Background Summary: The City uses an on-call stormwater modeling and engineering support contract to assist with planning and designing Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and other stormwater management needs. Several modeling tasks have been identified for the remainder of the 2010 and throughout 2011. In anticipation of this additional work, staff increased the budget to Professional Services under BA #6. The new work tasks are summarized below: Task 1. Reddington Levee Setback Support The consultant will continue evaluating possible relocation of the Brannan Park Pump Station as part of the King County Flood Control District's Reddington Levee Setback Project. The evaluation will also consider the inclusion of the airport area flooding as identified in the Comprehensive Drainage Plan (CDP). Task budget $50,071. Task 2. CIP Implementation Support The consultant will perform modeling and hydraulic analyses as needed to support the proposed 2011 CIP. Task budget $25,283. Task 3. Repair and Replacement Project Support The consultant will perform modeling and hydraulic analyses as needed to support the annual repair and replacement project. Task budget $14,745. Task 4. Update Storm Drainage Infrastructure Database and Hydraulic Model Ongoing updates to the hydraulic model will be made with emphasis on integrating the drainage from the annexation areas and Lakeland Hills. Task budget $64,987. Flow Monitoring, Model Calibration and CIP Refinement As recommended in the CDP, stormwater flow data will be gathered to calibrate the hydraulic model and then refine the CIP projects to better meet level of service goals or reduce project construction costs. Task budget $84,720. The amended cost for this contract is $239,806 for a total contract amount of $289,806 and is funded by the 432 Storm Fund. This amendment will also extend the contract term until December 31, 2011. Page 2 of 2
