CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of September 21, 2010 ,
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was rescheduled and held on
September 21, 2010, in Resource Room #2 located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West
Main Street, Auburn, WA. The following members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Dick Kammeyer, Member Cyril Van Selus and Member Gene Cerino.
STAFF PRESENT: : Police Chief Jim Kelly, Assistant Police Chief Bob Lee, City Attorney Dan Heid, Assistant
City Attorney Steven Gross, Director of HR/Risk & Property Management Brenda Heineman, and Civil
Service Secretary Terry Mendoza.
ACTION:
Chairman Kammeyer called the meeting to order at 3:40 p.m. ~ Approval of the August 10, 2010 Civil Service Commission meeting minutes:
Minutes were accepted as written. Motion by Member Cerino; Member Van Selus seconded.
Approval of the August 24, 2010 Assistant Police Chief Promotional Eligibility list:
• Eligibility list approved. Motion by Member Cerino; Member Van Selus seconded.
Approval of the August 31, 2010 Police Commander Promotional Eligibility list:
• Eligibility list approved. Motion by Member Van Selus; Member Cerino seconded.
UPDATES: The following updates were provided:
• The final Entry Level Police Officer written examination for this current recruitment was held on
September 21, 2010. Once the results of this: final test have been received, candidates receiving
a passing score will be integrated onto the current list of candidates. Oral Boards for the top
group of candidates will be held in October.
• The promotional exam for Police Sergeant is scheduled for September 23 and 24.
• The process for submitting a request to participate in future Police Department promotional
examinations will be revised so.that candidates will be required to submit their request in person
to HR. As such, a receipt will be provided to the candidate as proof ofsubmission.
