City of Auburn Mobile phone: 253-261-5429 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 22, 2010 AUBURN, Wash. – October 22, 2010 – The 2010 Local Street Pavement Preservation project is scheduled
to begin the second phase of construction activities on 1st St NE between Auburn Way N and Auburn Avenue on Wednesday, October 27th. During construction it will be necessary to close
1st St NE to all eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will be limited to local access only and traffic will only be able to make a right turn at the Auburn Avenue intersection. Detour
routes will be clearly posted. Construction is expected to take two weeks to complete. This work is weather dependent. Access to all businesses on 1st St NE will be maintained during
construction. Metro transit will temporarily relocate their bus stop on 1st St NE and reroute their buses during construction. This phase of construction will replace many of the cement
concrete pavement panels in the middle and on the south side of the street. For further information contact the Public Works Department at 253-931-3010.
