DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Grette Associates LLC is pleased to present this proposal to determine if any recent fill has been placed on
King County Tax Parcel #3914000025 and, if so, the extent of such fill.
Task 100 - Field Assessment
This task is to three-fold: 1) determine if there are indications of recent fill placed outside previously filled areas
and, if so, 2) detemune the extent of fill, and 3) prepare a letter report of findings.
Methods described in the 1987 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual and the1997
Washington State Wetdands Identification and Delineation Manual for Atypical Situations - Unauthorized activities
will be used to determine if there has been additional disturbance and fill material placed outside historically filled
or graded areas. This will include a review of historical aerial photos, conducting a site visit to visually inspect the
area and dig soil pits along the edge of fill. Photographs will be taken to provide documentation of soil profiles. If
no additional disturbance has occurred, a letter of findings will be provided to the City.
In the event additional disturbance has occurred, the extent of fill will be deternuned by collecting samples along
transects. Although not expected, the use of equipment, such as a backhoe, may be required if fill depth is greater
than can be reasonably excavated using hand-held equipment (i.e. spade, auger). Photographs will be taken to
provide documentation of findings. A letter including a description of inethods used and documentation of findings
will be provided to the City.
Assumptions:
• The Client shall ensure access to the subject parcel.
• Use of equipment, other than hand-held equipment, is not included within this scope.
• A critical area (i.e. wetland, stream, or wildlife) study is not included in this scope.

Should the use of a backhoe or other nonhand-held equipment be required the City wiU be informed prior to use and
fees associated with such use, including travel and operator, will be billed at the invoiced rate plus 10 percent.
This cost estimate is based on the assumption that Grette Associates has timely communications with City of
Aubum staff and that necessary data will be made available in a timely manner. This is to be a Time and Materials
contract based on the 6illing rates provided above. For the purposes of initiating the Project, the Task will be
charged for time and materials up to $3,667.10. If additional funds are necessary, the task costs would not be
exceeded without a change order signed by Grette Associates and the City of Auburn.

receiving the invoice. Failwe of payment within the specified 30-day period will result in a late payment penalty of
a$64.00 processing fee and an inte;est chaTge of 2% of the past due amount levied.at each subsequent invoice cycle.

liability of Consultanf, including attorneys fees awarded pursuant to this Agreement, that all those named shall not
exceed $50,000 or the total fee of Consultaat for the services rendered under this agreement, whichever is greater.
This contract will expire if it remains unexecuted for 60 days after the above listed date. If client wishes to pursue
this work after 60 days' time, Gmette. Associates staff may issue a, new contract based cwrent workload availability
and rate status. _
This agreement may be terminaied at any time by the Glient upon written notice to the Consultant, or by the
Consultant upon written notice to the Client: In the event of such termination by the Client, the Clien hall y to
the Consultant all costs of work performed to the date of termination.
