HomeMy WebLinkAbout3178 ORDINAtiCE N0. 3 1 7 8 Ay ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, ADDING TO CHAPTER 13.04 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, (WATER SERVICE - GENERAL REGULATIOtiS) BY AMENDING THE WATER CHARGES FOR ALL CUSTOMERS HAVING HAD COMBIyATION FIRE FLOW COMPOUND WATER METERS WHICH WERE IN- STALLED AND CONNECTED TO THE AUBURN MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM PRIOR TO JUNE 30, 1972. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There is herewith added to Chapter 13.04 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Auburn, 6dashington, the following new sections, to-wit: Notwithstanding the provisions of Auburn Codified City Ordinances 13.04.360 through 13.04.390, from and after the effective date of this Ordinance, all customers having had combination fire flow compound water meters which were installed and connected to the Auburn municipal water system prior to June 30, 1972, (or which may have been extended theref rom since said date) shall be charged for water consumption according to the following schedule, to-wit: The water demand rate shall be based upon those set forth in Auburn Codified City Ordinances 13.04.360 through 13.04.390, provided however, such customers as described above shall be charged on the basis of the largest meter using at least 600 cubic feet of water per month and anytime during the previous twelve (12) months and fi said largest meter does not register at least 600 cubic feet of water in any one (1) month, it shall be considered a fire line and charged according to Auburn Codified City Ordinance 13.04.390, provided however, said twelve (12) month period will not be retroactively computed but rather shall be computed commencing on the effective date of this Ordinance. Section 2. Where a fire flow compound water meter exists, no charge will be made for water used in extinguishing fire of incendiary or accidental origin or fire flow testing or caused by an accidental water main break if the customer Ordinance No. 3178 Page One 4-19-77, 4-25-77 4-28-77 , - at the location where the fire occurs gives written notice to the Finance Department within ten (10) days from the time of such useage. Otherwise, all water will be billed at the rate provided in Sections 13.04.360 through 13.04.390. Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
