AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING AUBURN CODIFIED CITY
ORDINANCE 13.24.010 SUB B, SUB-SUB 1 AND SU-SUB 2 INCREASING THE
EXEMPTIONS FOR SEWER AND WATER RATES FOR QUALIFIED CITIZENS AS
PERTAINS TO SAID CITIZENS TOTAL INCOME FROM ALL SOURCES FROM
$4,800.00 UNDER SUB-SECTION 1 TO THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT ALLOWED
FOR SOCIAL SECURITY FOR A SINGLE PERSON AND FROM $6,300.00
UNDER SUB-SECTION 2 TO THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED FROM SOCIAL SECURITY
FOR A SINGLE PERSON PLUS FIFTY PERCENT OF THAT AMOUNT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Sub-sub Sections 1 and 2 of Sub-Section B of Auburn Codified
City Ordinance 13.24.010 pertain to certain exemptions for certain qualified
citizens for sewer and water rates in the City of Auburn, Washington, which
reads as follows:
"13.24.010
B.
1. The only resident of the household claiming the exemption,
and that the applicant for the previous:calendar year had
a total income from all sources of less than four thousand
eight hundred dollars, or
2. Where there are two or more residents in the household
claiming the exemption, that for the previous calendar
year the combined total income from all sources of all
such residents was iess.than six thousand three hundred
dollars."
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"13.24.010
6.
1. The only resident of the household claiming the exemption,
and that the applicant for the.previous calendar year had
a total income from all sources less than the maximum allowed
from Social Secur.ity for a single person for that previous
year,
2. Where there are two or more residents in the household
claiming the exemption, that for the previous calendar year
the combined total income from all sources of all such
residents was less than the.maximum allowed from Social
Security for a single person for the previous calendar
plus 50% of that amount."

Section 2. This Ordinance shail take effect and be in force five (5)
days from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
