HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-20-2010 White River Valley Historical Society Board and Annual Meeting Minutes DATE: 9/15/2010,1:30-3:00 p.m. Location: White River Valley Museum, Muckleshoot Room Board Members Present: Richard Artu_ ra, Ronnie Beyersdort, Pat Cavenaugh, Gator Chamberlain, Megan Evans, Mike Gerber, Jennifer Hamor, Doug Hedger, Julie HeRen, Judi Roland; Scarff, Lisa A Board Members Excused: Tom Campbell, Mae Yamada, Jennifer Hamor, Ken Nelson Board Members Not Presentc Staff Present: Erin Hash, Patricia Cosgrove, Tara McCauley, Kristen Bruhan ~ 1. Call to Order and Approval of Minutes A. President Ger6er called the meeting to order and asked for the approval of the minutes. I MOTION CARRIED i II. Board President Report: President Ger6er noted that there are board vacancies. Inquiries are out to potential candidates: :Please let Mike or Pafricia_know if you know anyone whom might be interested and noted that Jamie Bothell has accepted an appointment to the board. I Patricia handed out questionnaires to the board members in order to gain information on each member's experience while serving. III. Committees ; • A. Finance Committee* Treasurer poug Hedger We are above from this time last yeac. The finance committee met and put together a draft budget for 2011. The committee will be assessing the Halloween Ball performance. Also discussed was how the farm would be managed in 2011 and beyond. B. Mary Olsen Farm Committee Judi Roland - Caretakers Arrive 12/1 The caretakers will tend to 2 children (their own), 2 goats and 2 turkeys. The heat is in working order and the water is clear and clean. - Pasture Fence Post holes have been dug: Bids to contractors have been released and recommendations have been make by the committee: During their next meeting they will discuss the farm budget moving forward. C. Halloween Costume Ball Committee Julie Herren Julie stated that we were.25% below expected attendance and sponsorship. Thanks to all for the wine and auction and program donations - IV. Staff Report A. Hops and Crops Festival Post Event` Review and Income Statement . Tara McCauley Tara shared that she has had wonderful feedback from vendors, brewers, band and guests. Next year she will plan on more seating arid umbrellas in fhe wine garden: The net income from the festival was $1,562.42. Some expenses will not be necessary going forward., - B. Staff Recommendation to Establish Executive Committee . The staff recommended the formation of a.n executive committee to eyaluate issues and provide a sttategic view of 6udget and business.plans. Issues that would currently come to the boarcl could instead be reviewed by the executive committee. The r.ommittee could then solicit help from the board as needed and integrate issues. V.
