Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 2:05 pm by Len Elliott. Those Board members attending in
addition to Mr. Elliott were Lonnie Sundal and Arnie Galli. Also present at the meeting was
Parks Maintenance Manager Mike Miller, Horticulturist Kirk Hadley, Parks Secretary Julie Mehl
and Eagle Scout volunteer Bryce Prenovost.
Minutes
October meeting minutes approved with discussed corrections.
III. Correspondence/Public Input
Bryce Prenovost reported he and other volunteers will be planting 57 trees at the White River
Trail on November 13th for an Eagle Scout project.
IV. Old Business
Mike Miller suggested a list of possible significant trees for 2011 be compiled for the board to
vote on.
Mr. Miller is waiting to hear from Michael Hursh on approval of Neighborhood Tree Grant. Kirk
Hadley added that staff will remove old trees and grind the stumps.
Activity Center / Gymnasium - parking lot drains very well and is still scheduled to open in
Spring 2011.
Mr. Miller suggested the board focus on proper pruning practices. Mr. Hadley has a brochure
on the hazards of topping trees and will contact the Auburn Reporter regarding an article. Kirk
also reported the folks at the last Tree Coordination Meeting would like to see more promotion
of Arbor Day.

V. New Business
VI. Board Recommendations/Input
Lonnie Sundal will drive to Mountainview Cemetery to view the Copper Beech tree being
considered for 2011 Significant Tree.
VII. Department Report,
Game. Farm Park light replacement will be complete by the end of November.
The White River Trail extension has been completed. We are currently seeking volunteers to
plant shrubs on November 20"'. A dedication ceremony will be held November 30"'.
The hazardous trees at Pioneer Cemetery will be removed in 2011 and replaced with a similar .
type of Maple tree. VIII. Adjoumment
There 'being no further business; the meeting was adjoumed at 2:50 pm.
