Minutes The minutes of the October meeting were not approved as there is no quorum. III. Committee Member Input IV. Correspondence/Public Input Auburn citizen Mike Kahler would like to install a Salmon Interpretive Area at the south end of Isaac Evans Park. He hopes to build a viewing area and show the life cycle of salmon and continuously build on it so folks understand the history and life cycle of salmon and the ecosystem. It would show the commercial and recreational benefits of salmon including information and photos of the history of hatcheries from the turn of the century to the present. He would like to clear the blackberries, raise the canopy and plant cedar trees in the same area. Julie Parascondola asked who would build and maintain, Mr. Kahler volunteered his group to build and maintain at no cost to the City of Auburn. His vision includes donor bricks as a way to fund college students time on the project. Director Faber volunteered the land and noted that the City of Auburn would have final approval on the project. He stated that an agreement would be signed by both parties stating what is to be done. Mr. Faber noted it should focus on education as well as bird watching. Mr. Kahler is hoping to have a group of third graders help with the planting. He would like to have a flip open guide for salmon species and tree species. Auburn citizen Tracy Evans would like a memorial for Dwight Clark at the Brannan Skate Park. Cedar Ridge has donated a rock/bench measuring 3'x3'x5' long. The memorial will include the message for kids to stay safe and stay together. They would like the memorial to be located near the picnic tables. Director Faber noted we will need a procedure in place as this is not a standard request and he requested a boulder as the memorial site. He said in the past a tree or a bench have been the standard memorials. The idea behind the rock memorial is so the skate boarders can use it as a skate feature, to grind' on. They will use a very hard plastic and kids could also climb on the rock. Mr. Faber requested the rock be nestled close to the concrete so Parks Maintenance won't have to mow around. The plaque is a bronze 8x10. AUBURN *MORE THAN YOU IMAGINED V.
