City Council reject.all bids for SrTiall Public Works Contract 11-07, Project Number CP1025/MS0802,
Auburn Municipal Airport - North Hangars Reroof.
Background Summary:
This project will construct new roofs for existing hangar buildings #9 and #10 using pre-finished standing
seam panels on metal fiat channels, set over the existing metal roofs.
The estimated cost for this project was $179,580, including tax. Based on this.estimate, the City sent out
invitations to bid Using-the City's Small Works Roster process as allowed in ACC 3.12.034.
..The lowest bid. submitted was $268,001,.including-tax.,ACC 3.12.034D allows'the City to reject any or all
bids at its` discretion.- .Because all 'of the bids were above both the City's estimate and the amount
budgeted,for.this project; staff recommends that all bids be rejected in order to allow staff to reevaluate
the; project,, identify additional funding sources, and re=advertise the project.
There was $200,000 budgeted for the North Hangars Reroof project in 2010 in the Airport 435 Fund.
There is approximately $19.1;686 available for this project which will be carried forward to 2011. A budget
adjustment from the Airport'435 lurid is likelito'be required-this year to provide additional funding for the
project.
