July 19, 2010
1. CALL TO ORDER .
The July 19, 2010 meeting was called to order at 100 p.m: in Conference Room Three located
on the second floor of Aubum City Hail, 25 West Main Street, Auburn, WA.
. Committee Members present were:. Chair Suzanne Limric, Bette Van Gasken, JoAnne Walters, Chuck Booth;
. Daryl Thompson, Marian Thomas; Virginia Lloyd-Baron, Tony Ladner and Lela Brugger
Committee Members not present: Barbara Derda and Michael Harbin
Staff present were: Community Services Manager Michael Hursh and
Community Services Project Assistant Kirsten Reynolds

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
• The Committee reviewed ttie June 17, 2010 minutes.
o Member Thompson motioned to accept the.June 17, 2010 minutes as read;
Member Booth seconded the motion.
■ The June 17, 2010 minutes were approved.
III. ~ AGENDA
• Review 2011 / 2012 Fundinq Applications
Community Services Manager Michael Hursh reviewed the list of agencies and answered
any questions the Committee had. -After extensive consideration the group agreed' they
would like to give some support to all the 2009 / 2010 previously funded agencies;
additionally, they wanted to support several new agencies which could mean a reduction in
funding from the 2009 / 2010 previously funded agencies.
The Committee was interested in supporting several new agencies including, but not limited
to the following agencies and programs:
o Catholic Community" Services Program: Katherine's (in Kent) and Rita's House (in
Lea Hill) House
o Center for Children & Youth J'ustice Program: Safe Havens Visitation Center
o Friends of Youth Program: The Landing Young Adult Shelter
o Neighborhood House Program: Emergency Assistance Services
. o Pediatric Interim Care Center Inc. Program: Interim Care of Drug-Exposed Infants
o Seattle-King County Department of Public Health Program: South King County
Mobile Medical Program
o South King Council of Human Services Program: Capacity Building Project
o South King County St. Vincent de Paul Stores Program: Society of St. Vincent de
Paul - Aubum
o South Sound Dream Center Program
Further discussion took place regarding agencies to receive funding; the City will initiate a
contract for services from the Auburn Food Bank Community Supper program and the
Auburn Boys & Girls Club.
IV. ADDITIONAL TOPICS
2011 / 2012 Fundina Timeline
Timeline for the funding recommendations is as follows:
Auqust - Final deliberation and funding recommendation formulated
September Meet with Planning & Community Development (PCD) Committee to report
funding recommendations `
October.- Public comment on proposed funding recommendation period, along with public
hearing for federal money required
November - Action plan to be submitted
December - 2011 /2012 City Budget to be passed
V. NEXT MEETING
The next meeting was scheduled for August 25, 2010 for the annual picnic.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 4;30 p.m.
