Background Summary: The City of Auburn is an active member of the White River Valley Citizen Corps Council. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) provides State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) grant funds to support regional emergency management projects. The King County Emergency Management Advisory Council (EMAC) has elected to dedicate some of those funds to regional Citizen Corps activites. The City of Auburn, through agrant-funded temporary staff position, will act as the lead agency for this project, ensuring equitable distribution of equipment to programs throughout the County, including our own programs. Purpose. The City Council of the City of Auburn hereby accepts a grant from the King County Office of Emergency Management in the amount of Nineteen Thousand One Hundred Seventy Dollars ($19,170.00} to fund regional Citizen Corps activities and equipment. Section 2. Implementation. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carryoutthe directions of this resolution.
