1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 2:06 pm by Len Elliott. Those Board members attending in
addition to Mr. Elliott were Lonnie Sundal, Karen Wright, Maggie Greenslit, Arnie Galli. Also
present at the meeting were Parks Horticulturist Kirk Hadley and Parks Secretary Julie Mehl.
II. Minutes
February meeting minutes approved.
III. Correspondence/Public Input
A. Maggie asked about dangerous tree reporting, Kirk Hadley responded to call it in to the
City. If it is located on private property, code enforcement would handle.
IV. Oid Business
A. Arbor Day tree planting to take place April 20, 10:00 am at Veteran's Memorial Park. The
Department of Natural Resources will send someone to attend. The Katsura tree has
been ordered. Len is meeting Tuesday with Chris Anderson and Mike Miller regarding
publicity. Will contact Bill Peloza to get Veteran's involved.
B. Tree Progams Coordination meeting to take place March 25th at 2:00 pm at the City Hall
Annex.
C. Pioneer Cemetery Tree Removal - Kirk reports that we only received two complaints, all
other citizen calls were positive.
V. New Business
A. Please remember to keep your eyes open for new significant tree nominations for 2012.
VI. Board Recommendations/Input
A. Jan Speer and Laurie Sloan have turned in their applications to become Tree Board
members. They are being processed.

VII. Department Report

A. Park Ave Tree Planting - photo was included in issue.of Auburn Reporter. It was CQLD!
B. Pioneer Cemetery replacement trees have 6een planted. They should take off quickly and
grow:severaP feet per year: -
C. Tennis Court refurbish projeet; are removing trees which were planted too close.to Game
Farm Park tennis courts; Emerald Paving will be repairing the court surface and Quality
Fence will work on fencing:
D. Six-wind damaged trees were removed at disc golf course.
E. Isaac Evans Cottonwoods - Kirk has evaluated and located 20 trees that: need to come
- down immediately. They are located near the rest rooms and/or would cause damage to
lines if they were to come down spontaneously.
