I. A. Flag Salute
' The regular meeting of the City of Auburn Nuncil was called to order by Mayor
Pro�em Pat Burns at 7:30 p.m. in the City of Auburn Council Chambers. Mayor
ProJDem Burns led those in attendance in the pledge of allegiance.

Those in attendance included Mayar Pro�em Pat Burns, and Oouncilmembers Whittall,
walters, Larson, Brothers, Wisner, arrl Rurle. Mayor FL�egner was excused from the
meeting. Staff inembers included City Attorney Jack Bereiter, Planning & Comnunity
Develo�anent Director Mary McQunber, Marketing Aga�t A1 Hicks, Parks & Rec,reation
Director Len Ch�man, Public Works Direcbor Frank (�rrie, Finance Direct,�r Pat
Dugan, Assistant Fire Chief Steve Shropshire, Pblice Chief Jake Evans, City Clerk

resurfacing agreeJnent on SR-181 to the Green River Bridge, betc�een the City of
Auburn and the Washington State Departme�t of Transportation.

II. A. Public Hearings -
1. 1987-88 Block Grant Projects
The Council of the City of Auburn will conduct a p�lic hearing regan9ing the
furding of additional 1987-88 Comminity Development Block Grant projects in
order for all pers�ns interested to voice opinion prior fio determination as to
the use of an additional $32,000.
Mayor Pro-tem Burns opened the p�filic hearing.
No one spoke �r or against the deGermination as to use of the additional
1987-88 Comwnity Development Block Grant furx3ing.
Motion by Councilmember Walters, secorXi by Councilme�er Lars�n to close the
p�lic hearing.

Planning arr] Com�unity Development �mnittee recomnendation for the use of

the minutes are of p�lic record. Councilmember Wisner roted discussion took place

on the new voters pa�hlet being p�lished by King Oounty. The pa�hlet will be of
minimum cost tn the cities, and will provide m�re infor�retion on local elections.
The Comnittee recomnended approval of King County's proposal for the new voters'
panphlet, arcl further recomrended payment be made from the general furd.
B. Planning & Ooimunity Development
C�airman Burns reported the Planning & Comnunity Development Comnittee met 1'
Wednesday, June 10, 1987, arx3 the minutes are of p�lic record. The next regula
scheduled meeting will be one week from tAtrorraa.
C. Public Works
Chairman Lars�n reported the Public Works Qomnittee met on June 4 arr] the minubes
are of p�lic record. Chairman Lars�n recomnended Council approval for items on
k the Consent Agenda as recomnended by the Qomnittee. 'lt�e next regularly scheduled
meeting will be June 18, 1987 at 7:30 p.m.
D. Einance
Chair�n Kurle reported the Finance Comnittee met at 7:00 p.m before the Council
meeting this eveninq. Chairrtqn Rurle noted the Banking Services Awacd appears on
the Consent Agenda arX] recomnende3 approval to Seafirst Bank.

G. Utility Bill Adjustments

Mary McClufier sumnarized the events relating tn the application. With the recait
adaption of the new zoning code there is rnw an official I. 0 zone on this property
which with the adoption of a conditional use permit will allaa for a beauty salon.
This action can be oo�leted with adoption of Ordinance 9232 appearing on tonight's
agenda ur►9er VII. A. 3. It is also necessary tn dispose of the original
application request, Application No. 3-87, changing the old i�2 zone to I� 3 since
the property is rnw zoned I�O.
