The regular meet[ng of the City of Auburn Council was ealled to order by Meyor
Roegner at 7:30 p.m. in the Citq of Auburn Council Cfiambers. [ul�yor Noegner 1

Chrts Rawl[ngs, represented Boy Seout Troop 343, read a letter requesting Counci
consider widening Auburn Way South fram Piggly Wiggly to the Auburn City limit
Troop 343 suggested widening Auburn Way South in order to provide a saYer traffie
flow for the comnunity. Qiris Rawlings thanked the Mayor and Council for their
attention, and asked that a response be Yorwarded to them.

A. Municipal Services
Chairman Wisner reported the Municipa] Services has not met since the last Council
meeting. The next Municipal Services Caimittee meeting will be Wednesday, October
14 at 7:30 p.m.
B. Planning bc Camiunity Development
Chairman Burns reported the Planning 6c C,artnunity Develop�nent Camnittee met on
Septenber 29, 1987 and the minutes are of public record. G�airrtqn Burns requested
the September 29, 1987 minutes be amended to reflect the absence of Councilmember
Wisner.
C. Public Works
Qiairman Larson reported on the Public Works C.am�ittee meeting held on October 1,
1987. The minutes are of public record. The next Publie Works Camnittee meeting

C�airman Kurle reported the Finance C,artnittee met at 7:00 p.m. prioe to the Couneil
meeting tonight. Itans that were discussed eppear on tonight's agenda. The next
regular meeting of the Finance (',amiittee will be held on October 19, 198? just
prior to the Councii meeting.

V. Q,D BUSINESS
A. Rezone Application No. 21-8?
Council approval on rezone eequest fran R-4 (Multiple Family Distriet) to Nf-1
(Light Industrial DIstrict) and a Crn�rehensive Plan Map amendment fran high
density residential land use to light industrial on property located on the south
side oY 3rd Street S.W. in the 300-400 bloeks.
Councilmgnber Burns informed the Mayor and Council he had been contacted by
neighborhood residents who abut the proposed rezone.
Motion by Councilmember Burns, second by Councilm�nber Wisner to approve the rezone
and Canprehensive Pian Map amendment based upon the Findings of Fact and
Conclusions as outlined, and instruct the City Attorney to prepare the necessary
ordinance and resolution.
Undee discussion, Councilmenber Kurle submitted foe the eecord a memo dated October
2, 1987 regarding this rezone application. Councilmember Kurle pointed out
pursuant to ACyV 42.36.060 regarding quasi-judiciel proceedings, this letter is to
inform the Mayor and City Council, and to enter into the public record that he
aceepted the invitation of Kathleen Hayes to attend a meeting on September 28, 1987
to discuss rezone Application 21-87.
Councilmanber Brothers stated that he too attended the seme meeting as
Councilmenber Kurle.

B. Final Plat - Application No. P-1-84
Request Council approval on the request of Steve Lone, Richard Burnhem and Jean M.
O'Brien for the Final Plat of Lone's Third Addition to be located at the easterly
end oY 12th Street N.E. and adjacent to the Green River consisting oP 4.2 aeres
and situated in en R-1 (Single Family) zone, and reconmend the City Attorney
prepare the necessary ordinanee.
Motion by Councilmember Burns second by Councilmember Walters to approve the Final
Plat as submitted under Application No. P-1-84, and instruct the City Attorney to
prepare the necessary ordinance.

Couneilme�nber Larson noted the Senior Center will be celebrating their lOth anniversay
on Friday, October 9, 1987. Ongoing entertairm�ent and activities have been scheduled
for anyone who owould like to participate.
