C. Announcenents and Appotntments 1988 Budget Workshops Mayor Rnegner announced the schedule for the 1988 Budget Workshops. The Budget Workshops will be held on November 17, 23, and 24, 1987 beginning at 5:30 p.m. D. Agenda Nbdifications Mayor Roegner noted agenda modifications under Item II.0 which transmits the twn letters dated October 15 and October 16, 1987 frw�n Jcel Haggard, Attoeney representing Theron Torgerson, regarding rezone Application No. 26-87. Mr, Haggard requests the Auburn City Council consider continuance of Application No. 26-87 ' hearing until December 7, 1987 in order to review the record. Other rtpdifications �• were noted under IV. Marris Nickson - 523 Aaby Drive, Aubuen, WA Mareis Nickson was conceened about development oP the proposed rezone property, Marris Nickson felt the City spent many hours adopting the new zoning code, and should consider approving the staff reca►mendation to deny rezone end Canprehensive Plan Mflp amen�nents. Dorothy Thanpson - 4537 Auburn Way North, Auburn, WA Dorothy Thanpson, property avner near proposed rezone property, stated she would like to see comnercial development in this area. Councilmenber Wisner relayed citizen concern she received regarding proposed garbage disposal site, and thanked Mayor Rnegner for his letter to King County Executive Hill on the proposed siting. B. Audience Participation Trudy Goudriaan - 928 30th Street N.E., Aubuen, WA 98002 Trudy Goudriaan, representatIve of The ftiverpark Naneawners Association, request' the City of Auhurn �nend their codes to provIde servicea for streets, lights, meintenance, and poltce protection in their area. Mayor Roe�ner indicated their request will take considerable staff work but would be peocessed for Council review. When staff review is camplete notifications will be made. . C. Correspondence - None •�. i.. ��,n�i rra' ;+� .�:�n3 A. Municipal Services Chairman Wisner reported the Niuiicipal Services met on October 14, 1987 and minutes are of public record. Ct�airman Wisner noted (�ief Evans will participate with the City of Kent in a drinking driving task force. A letter will be sent out discouraging drinking and driving particularly during the holiday season. The nest Municipal Services Cam�ittee meeting will be Thursday, October 29th at 7:30 p.m. B. Planniog & Cammnity Development Chairman Burns reported the Planning dc Ca�munity Development ('.atmittee met on October 13, 1987 and the minutes are of public record. The next Planning dc Crnmunity Developnent C'.mmittee meeting will be October 27th, 1987. , C. Public Works Ct�aieman Larson reported that the Public Worka (',a►mittee did not meet. (fiair�n Larson raised the question regarding the Planning 6c Camrunity Development Crnmittee's progress regarding social services being peovided, particularly at the Chartley House, and what the future plans are. The next Public Works Cmmittee will be held on Thursday, October 22, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Roegner cautioned the Councils' discussions surrounding the issues developing around the siting of inental health fecilities in Auburn since permit decisions msy be required of the Council on these issues. Additional inforrt�ation will be provided to Council for their review on current aetivity. D. Finence Chairman Kurle reported the Finance C'•amiittee met at 7:00 p.m. prior to the Council meeting tonight. Itens that were discussed appear on tonight's agenda. The next regular meeting of the Finance (',cmnittee will be held on November 2, 1987 prior to the Council meeting. IV. qONSENf PGENDA A. Minutes 1. October 5, 1987 Regular Council Minutes B.
