BUDGET MEETING
November 17, 1987
The first budget meeting to discuss the proposed 1988 Budget was
convened at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Work Area at City Hall.
Attendance
In attendance were Councilmembers Brothers, Larson, Walters,
Whittall, and Wisner; Mayor Roegner; Police Chief Jake Evans;
Fire Chief Bob Johnson; Finance Director Pat Dugan; Parks and
Recreation Director Len Chapman; Personnel Director, Gretel
Sloan; City Attorney Jack Bereiter; Public works Director Frank
Currie; and Police Captains Ray Sherman and Sill Pitzl.
Councilmembers Burns and Kurle were excused.

Presentations
Presentations were made by Mayor Roegner, Finance Director Pat
Dugan, Police Chief Jake Evans, Fire Chief Bob Johnson, Personnel
Director Gretel Sloan, City Attorney Jack Bereiter, and Parks and
Recreation Director Len Chapman.
Discussion centered around the need to fund short-term or capital
types of services, and the Game Farm. General discussion
occurred with regard to the future of downtown Auburn and a
potential location for a community center. Mayor Roegner indi-
cated the City staff could review with the Planning & Community
Development Cotmnittee, the potential location for a community
center. Mary McCumber's presentation next week wiil cover the
downtown area.
Presentations scheduled for Monday, November 23 have been changed
and will include a presentation by Pat Dugan on the City's com-
puterization plan; by Mary McCumber on Planninq, the library, and
the airport; an�•by Frank Currie on Public Works, Water, Sewer,
Streets, Equipment Rental and Storm Drainage.
It also is anticipated that Council deliberations could occur
Monday, November 23.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:95 p.m.
