COUNCIL BUDGET WORRSHOP � - � November 16, 1988 Those in attendance included Mayor Roegner, Councilmembers Stacey Brothers, Pat Burns, Don Rurle, Judi Roland, Jim Walters,, and Pete Whittall� rstaff, meml�ers .Pat. _A�tgan,;.Len Chapman; Gretei Sloan,"Marquerite Schelleatiager, Frank Currie, Bob Johnson, Jake Evans, Mary McCumber, Mary Stanton, Marion Dukes, and Bill Pitzl. Councilmember Larson Was excused. - The meeting was convened at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Roegner provided the City Council copies of the maintenance and construction activity for the storm drainaqe utility which had bean requested the previoua evening. Finance Director Pat Dugan provided the Council an analysis of DAWN and Rape Relief�s budqet, Auburn's contributione, and statistical data available on clientele services. Following questione on these topics, Mary McCumber, Director of Planninq and community Development, Mary Stanton, Library Manaqer, and John Anderson, Airport Manager, went over the Planning and Community Development Department budget. Marguerite Schellentrager preaented the Leqal Department budget, and Police Chief, Jake Evans, provided the budget report for the Police Department. The departmental presentations concluded with Parks and Recreation Director, Len Chapman, providing the budget report Por his department which included the golf and cemetery divieione. At the conclusion of the departmental presentations, tha City Council deliberated on the baselina budget, the proposed cemetery adjustment, the general fund program initiatives, and the self-supporting fund program initiatives. At the conclusion of the Council's deliberations, consensus was reached by all Councilmembara in attendance to support all items contained in the Mayor's recommended budget and recommended program improvements. Additionally, Councilman Burns proposed that $20,000 be added to the equipment replacement fund for vehicles within the fire department. Tha Council unanlmously agreed to this addition. Diecussion also occurred around adding play equipmant at ieaac Evans Park, currently under construction; however, there was not Council consensus to add the equipment at this time. .Councilmember Kurle suggested the City's administration review with the Finance Committee our tax atructure at mid-year, and Councilmember Burns suggested a review of the Wilderness Park South financinq at mid-year.
