HomeMy WebLinkAboutItems Submitted at the Meeting Ox Municip~al Services Report from the Auburn Municipal Airport The Airport is currently operating under a Master Plan produced and approved in December 2002. This Master Plan covers the period of 2001 tb 2020. A mid-term update is due~ which is funded by FAA and State grant monies to update the.'Master Plan. This is not a full update, but will incorporate projects completed, infrastructure updates, facilities, airport economics and future planning and potential. With this update in mind the A.irport*A-dvi,sory Board is creating a Long Term Planning Sub- committee. Included in this planning and'the. update to the Airport Master Plan will be the Urban Core Task Fbrce Sub Principle 3.4 which states: "Develop and suppdrt the growth of the airport to enhance new opportunities with the urban core. .2. Extend the runway (to) 5,000 feet io support airport growth and future economic development. 3. Encourage light manufactu.ring, small businesses at airport such as restaurants and hotel space. 4. Develop areas around the aitport as light commercial and rhixed-use zone.." A meeting with the FAA Airports Division staff (Peter Doyle) we be conducted in July 2011 to discuss the FAA participation in t-he process of enhancements of the Auburn Municipal Airport anO the possible enhancement of the Auburn Academy Airport.
