Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 2:08 pm by Bryce Landrud. Those Board members
attending in addition to Mr. Landrud were Maggie Greenslit, and Len Elliott. Also present at the
meeting were Parks Maintenance Manager Mike Miller and Parks Secretary Julie Mehl.

June meeting minutes were not approved as there was no quorum.

VI. Board Recommendations/Input
A. Len Elliott has notified the Mayor's office that he will resign as an Urban Tree Board member
as of 12/31/11.
B. Len Elliott reports the summer tree care article has not been run in the Auburn Reporter.
VII. Department Report
A. Mike Miller has an Eagle Scout (Elliott Pefrey) scheduled to plant up to 32 trees on 9t" Street
in October.
B. Park Avenue tree planting update: all trees are doing well, maintenance is giving extra
water until fall.
C. The City of Auburn has been designated "Tree City USA", which allows us to apply for
certain tree related grants.

D. AII life vests have been taken and not retumed at the new`�Borrow a Life V�t"kiosk at
Isaac Evans park. This was an Eagle Scout project promoUng water safety.
E. A split raii fence has been installed by an Eagle Scout at the White River Trail.
F. A pergola &planter boxes have been built at the Community Garden by an Eagle Scout.
G. The tennis courts at Game Fartn Park will be painted today, and completed by August 5"'.
H. The updates to Shaughnessy Park will be made with grant funds, $50,000 neighborhood,
$30,000 city. Upgrades to include basketball, pickleball, six picnic tables, barbecues and
sidewalks.
I. The environmental park will need volunteers to plant 2,500 trees this fall.
]. Roegner Park off leash area will be constructed this month.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjoumed at 2:35 pm.
