I. CALL TO ORDER
The Human Services Committee Meeting was called to orderon Friday, August 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
at 1708 E Main Street,Aubum, WA.
Committee Members oreseM: Suzanne Limric, Chuck Booth,Barbara Derda,Michael Harbin, Bette Van Gasken,
Daryl Ttiompson, Lela Brugger and Tony Ladner
Committee Members not oresent: Virginia Lloyd-Baron and JoAnne Walters
Staff present: Community Services Manager Michael Hursh, Proj.Assistant Kirsten Reynolds and
Parks Arts&Recreation Director Daryl Faber
Visitors oresent: Jim Limric, Steve Van Gasken and Lelia Booth
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
• Review of June 27, 2011 minutes
o Member Derda motioned to accept the June 27, 2011 minutes; Member Brugger
seconded the motion. All Committee Members were in favor of adopting the
minutes as submitted.

. Emergency Management
Communiry Service Manager Michael Hursh talked about an upcoming FEMA training and
exe�cise that City of Auburri staff will be participating in. FEMA is putting on a regional
training on behalf of the Green River Citles. The goal is to prepare the partnering cities on
how to best handle a disaster situation in their own communities. This is a unique.
opportunfty to have FEMA trainers come directly to the area for this exercise.
• Future Agenda
The group discussed future topics for upcoming meetings which included helping homeless
youth, hunger in Aubum andl Committee Memberships.

The next meeting is scheduled forMonday, September 26, 2011.
