CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEEfING
Meeting Minutes of August 9, 2011
The regularly scheduled meeting of tFie CivilService Commission was held on August 9, 2011 in Resource
Room #2 located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street, Au6urn, WA. The
following members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Gene Cerino, Roger Thordarson and Cyril Van Selus.
STAFF PRESENT: Police Chief Bob Lee, Assistant City Attorney Steven Gross, and Civil Service Secretary
Terry Mendoza.
ACTION:
Chairman Cerino called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.
Approval of the July 12, 2011 Civil Service Commission meeting minutes:
• Minutes were accepted as written. Motion by Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson; Member Van
Selusseconded.
Approval of the August 5, 2011 Lateral Police Officer Eligibility list:
� Eligibility list approved. Motion by Member Van Selus; Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson
seconded.
Approval of the August 5, 2011 Entry Level Police Eligibility list:
• Eligibility list approved. Motion by ChairmanPro Tem Thordarson; Member Van Selus
seconded.
Commission approved the request to extend for one additional year the Promotion Eligibility Lists for
Assistant Chief and Police Commander:
• Assistant Chief Promotion Eligibility List extended through August 20,2012. Motion by Member
Van Selus; Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson seconded.
• Police Commander Promotion Eligibility List extended through August 27, 2012. Motion by
Member Van Selus; Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson seconded.
UPDATES:
The foliowing updates were provided to the Commission:
• Lateral Orel Boards will be conducted on Friday,August 12, 2011
• Entry Le4el Police w�itten exam is set for Thursday,August 11 and Tuesday,August 16, 2011
• Officer Matthew McNabb, recently graduated from the WA Basic Law Enforcement Academy
and will be sworn in at 4:00 p.m. on August 9, 2Q11

There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting adjourned at 3:41 p.m.
