HomeMy WebLinkAboutITEM II-A-1 MINUTESAuburn Airport Advisory Board Minutes for October 19, 2011 Board Members Present: City Staff Present: Mark Babcock -Chair Bill Peloza, Council Member Bob Myers Shelley Coleman, Finance Director /Airport Supervisor Wayne Osborne Bill Anderson Bob Jones Visitors: Airport Management Present: Kasey Maiorca- Northwest Aviation College Michael Shipman Lee Potter- airport tenant Linda Eskesen Meeting Date: October 19, 2011 I - 23i1I11.wU1 Place: City Hall Annex Building, Conference Room1, Second Floor A motion was made and seconded to accept the Minutes of the September 21, 2011 meeting. Old Business: Storm Water catch basins: Mr. Shipman shared information on repair and cost for catch basins which have deteriorated and in need of immediate repair. Maroni Construction has given Airport Management a bid for each individual basin, according to the repair needed. Those basins of concern would be repaired with brick and mortar to grade level. City of Auburn engineering will be contacted to see if they concur with Marioni's report. A motion was made by the Board, seconded and unanimously approved to finance the project. New Business: Aircraft Sale: An aircraft delinquent in rent payments at the Auburn Municipal Airport will be advertised for sale beginning this week. Sealed bids for the aircraft will be accepted by the City Clerk's office until November 41h, 2011. The Board made a consensus to move forward with the sale. Airport Rental Rates: After a brief discussion, it was recommended by the board to hold the current rental rates through 2012. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to keep the current rates for the coming year and send this recommendation to Municipal Services. Discussion Items: Review of Matrix- A review of the matrix was conducted and will be updated as required. Airport Maintenance Projects: A review of the projects was done and a request was made to add some of these to the matrix, eliminating the bulleted printout. Open Discussion- A suggestion was made to the Board to brainstorm ideas for a general event to showcase the Auburn Airport. Suggestions included: static display, WWI aircraft display and including vendors for food /snacks. The general event will be added on the matrix as #13. Meeting adjourned at 9:08 A.M.
