A. Welcome and Introductions:
Lisa Scarff, a member of our board for years who formally served as recording secretary as well as on
varied committees, has submitted her resignation due to professional demands which compete with
board service. Her presence will be missed by all. Members are encouraged to suggest persons who may
be interested in serving WRVM by filling the vacancy on the board.
Mike Miller continues to recover from the complications secondary to his ruptured hernia. He is cared
for at Saint Francis Hospital in Federal Way. A get -well card was circulated.
New Board Members please cooperate with Erin Hash so the photographs are completed.
C. Free Wednesday Campaign packets were distributed to board members. This is a simple affordable gift
to support the WRVM. The packets require board member signatures and a little added note. They are,
otherwise, fully prepared for mailing and may either be dropped in the post or returned to the museum
office for mailing.
D. Museology 101, Step One in Marketing Effort

A. Patricia Cosgrove announced the happy surprise that WRVM is selected by Historic Seattle as the 2012
Award Recipient in the area of Best Restoration Project in recognition of Mary Olson Farm. Presentation
of this award will occur on the evening of May 15th at their annual awards ceremony. Historic Seattle is
the only nonprofit membership organization dedicated to preserving Seattle and King County's
architectural legacy, & believes that buildings provide an essential link to the past, reminding us of who
we are and from where we have come.
Hops & Crops - Rachael Burrum provided paperwork outlining event restructure and sponsorships.
Contacts are sought related to breweries and bands as well as ideas for new ways to connect with
potential attendees such as through the use of electronic media and social networking to enhance our
current efforts to engage the community in this event.
C. Patricia Cosgrove reviewed the efforts to broaden the audience of the WRVM through the following
methods: our new telephone system will allow a caller to 'press' for events, WRVM now has 131 friends
on Facebook, Pinterest, an online pin board which shares items of interest will allow WRVM exposure,
staff continues to seek blog sites to allow for public relations work, and board members can help by
attending and bringing a friend to the next exhibit opening on the 24th of April 2012.
