A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
3 WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A
4 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN KING COUNTY RETIRED SENIOR
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM AND THE CITY OF AUBURN, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
5 VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT AT THE AUBURN SENIOR CENTER

7 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN A
8 REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS
9 Section 1 The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of
10
Auburn, Washington are herewith authorized to execute a
11
Memorandum of Understanding between King County Retired Senior
12
13 Volunteer Program and the City of Auburn for the purpose of
14 volunteer recruitment at the Auburn Senior Center A copy of
15 said Agreement is attached hereto, denominated as Exhibit "A" ,
16
and made a part hereof as though set forth in full herein
17
Section 2 The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
18
19 such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
20 out the directives of this legislation

The mission of the King County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program is to help meet critical community needs
by linking people over 55 to volunteer opportunities that respond to those needs, and to support and recognize
their volunteer service. Further RSVP is committed to promoting the acknowledgment of seniors as vital,
contributing members of the community
This Memorandum of Understanding may be amended at any time by the parties involved. It may also be
terminated for cause by either party with 30 days notice.
It is agreed that the following basic provisions will guide the working relationship between the King County
Retired & Senior Volunteer Program and the Volunteer station listed above:
THE RETIRED & SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM WILL.
1 Assist the agency/station in recruiting senior volunteers by promoting the agency's volunteer
opportunities, and interviewing and refemng appropriate volunteers.
2. Provide orientation regarding RSVP to agency staff, and maintain regular communication between
RSVP and the volunteer station. The RSVP office can provide statistical data for an agency on their
RSVP volunteers if requested. RSVP will also provide volunteer report and registration forms if
needed.
3 Provide supplemental volunteer accident, personal liability, and auto liability insurance to cover
expenses beyond the coverage provided by the volunteer's personal insurance and Medicare.
4 Supply transportation reimbursement for mileage or bus fare in accordance with current RSVP
Guidelines to volunteers who need this assistance in order to volunteer.
5 Mail RSVP's quarterly publication Senior News to all registered senior volunteers reporting hours.
6 Sponsor an annual recognition event to honor RSVP volunteers and extraordinary volunteer service.
7 Participate in station recognitions, providing pins and certificates for RSVP volunteers.
THE VOLUNTEER STATION WILL.
1 Actively participate in the recruitment of volunteers and promote RSVP to new and current eligible
volunteers at the station.
