3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, RELATING TO ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CERTAIN
4 PROPERTY, LOCATED ON THE CITY' S NORTHERN BOUNDARY, THAT IS
SOUTH OF SOUTH 285TH STREET AND EAST OF THE WEST VALLEY
5 HIGHWAY

7 WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, has received
8 Application No ANX0001-96 petitioning the City to annex 12
9
acres of land located on the City' s northern boundary,
10
adjacent to South 285th Street; and
11
12 WHEREAS, at the regular City Council meeting held
13 December 2 , 1996, the City Council authorized City staff to
14 prepare the necessary annexation petition stating that said
15
area, if annexed by the City of Auburn, will assume the pro
16
17 rata portion of the existing bonded indebtedness of the City
18 of Auburn; and
19 WHEREAS, on December 10 , 1996 the petition was received
20 by the City of Auburn, which petition was signed by the
21
property owners, representing 1000 of the valuation of the
22
23 property, lying within the limits of the proposed area to be
24

annexed, according to the assessed valuation for general
2
taxation; and

4 WHEREAS, on January 6, 1997 the Auburn City Council
5 scheduled a public hearing to be held on January 21, 1997; and
6 WHEREAS, on January 21, 1997, the City Council held a
7
public hearing at 7 30 p m in the Council Chambers of the
8
Auburn City Hall, at which time the City Council recommended
9
10 approval of said annexation and instructed that the notice of
11 intention be forwarded to the King County Boundary Review
12 Board

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
14
WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
15
16 RESOLVES THAT
17 Section 1 . The City of Auburn hereby requests the King
18 County Boundary Review Board to approve the annexation of 12
19
acres of land located on the City' s northern boundary,
20
adjacent to South 285th Street
21
22 Section 2 . The City Council finds that the annexation is
23 consistent with the City of Auburn' s goals and policies
24

1 related to annexations as enumerated in Chapter 13 of the
2
City' s Comprehensive Plan
3
4 Section 3 . The City Council further finds that the
5 annexation is consistent with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan
6 of the City for orderly and controlled growth, and
7
accomplishes the purposes and objectives specified in RCW
8
36 93 010 based on the facts herein
9
10 Section 4 . The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
11 such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
12 out the directives of this legislation
