3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, RELATING TO ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CERTAIN
4 PROPERTY, LOCATED SOUTH OF SOUTH 316TH STREET AND WEST OF "W"
5 STREET NW

WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, has received
7
8 Application No ANX0001-97 petitioning the City to annex a 4 3
9 acre parcel of land located on the west hill, south of the
10 City' s watershed and southeast of the Evergreen Heights
11 elementary school; and
12
WHEREAS, at the regular City Council meeting held January
13
14 21, 1997, the City Council authorized City staff to prepare
15 the necessary annexation petition stating that said area, if
16 annexed by the City of Auburn, will assume the pro rata
17
portion of the existing bonded indebtedness of the City of
18
Auburn; and
19
20 WHEREAS, on January 24 , 1997 the petition was received by
21 the City of Auburn, which petition was signed by the property
22 owners, representing 100% of the valuation of the property,
23
lying within the limits of the proposed area to be annexed,
24
according to the assessed valuation for general taxation; and

WHEREAS, on February 3 , 1997 the Auburn City Council
2
scheduled a public hearing to be held on February 18 , 1997;
3
4 and
5 WHEREAS, on February 18 , 1997, the City Council held a
6 public hearing at 7 30 p m in the Council Chambers of the
7
Auburn City Hall, at which time the City Council recommended
8
approval of said annexation and instructed that the notice of
9
10 intention be forwarded to the King County Boundary Review
11 Board
12 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
13
WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
14
RESOLVES THAT

16 Section 1 . The City of Auburn hereby requests the King
17 County Boundary Review Board to approve the annexation of a
18 4 3 parcel of land located on the west hill, south of the
19
City' s watershed and southeast of the Evergreen Heights
20
21 elementary school
22 Section 2 . The City Council finds that the annexation is
23 consistent with the City of Auburn' s goals and policies
24

related to annexations as enumerated in Chapter 13 of the
2
City' s Comprehensive Plan

4 Section 3 . The City Council further finds that the
5 annexation is consistent with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan
6 of the City for orderly and controlled growth, and
7
accomplishes the purposes and objectives specified in RCW
8
36 93 010 based on the facts herein
9
10 Section 4 . The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
11 such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
12 out the directives of this legislation
13
