HomeMy WebLinkAbout2879 1 RESOLUTION NO 2 8 7 9 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, 3 WASHINGTON, RELATING TO ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CERTAIN PROPERTY, LOCATED AT THE EAST END OF EAST MAIN STREET 4 5 WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, has received 6 Annexation No ANX0005-97 petitioning the City to annex 7 approximately a 2 79 acre of land located at the east end of 8 East Main Street ; and 9 WHEREAS, at the regular City Council meeting held 10 December 15, 1997 the City Council authorized City staff to 11 prepare the necessary annexation petition stating that said 12 area, if annexed by the City of Auburn, will assume the pro 13 rata portion of the existing bonded indebtedness of the City 14 of Auburn; and 15 WHEREAS, on November 12 , 1997 the petition was received 16 by the City of Auburn, which petition was signed by the 17 property owners, representing more than 600 of the valuation 18 of the property, lying within the limits of the proposed area 19 to be annexed, according to the assessed valuation for general 20 taxation; and 21 WHEREAS, on December 1, 1997 the Auburn City Council 22 scheduled a public hearing to be held on December 15 , 1997 ; 23 and 24 25 26 Resolution No 2879 December 19, 1997 Page 1 1 WHEREAS, on December 15, 1997, the City Council held a 2 public hearing at 7 30 p m in the Council Chambers of the 3 Auburn City Hall, at which time the City Council recommended 4 approval of said annexation and instructed that the notice of 5 intention be forwarded to the King County Boundary Review 6 Board 7 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, 8 WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH 9 RESOLVES THAT 10 Section 1 . The City of Auburn hereby requests the King 11 County Boundary Review Board to approve the annexation of a 12 2 79 acre of land located at the east end of East Main Street 13 Section 2 . The City Council finds that the annexation is 14 consistent with the City of Auburn' s goals and policies 15 related to annexations as enumerated in Chapter 13 of the 16 City' s Comprehensive Plan 17 Section 3 . The City Council further finds that the 18 19 annexation is consistent with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan 20 of the City for orderly and controlled growth, and 21 accomplishes the purposes and objectives specified in RCW 22 36 93 010 based on the facts herein 23 24 25 26 Resolution No 2879 December 19, 1997 Page 2 1 Section 4 .
