A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
3 WASHINGTON, RELATING TO ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CERTAIN
PROPERTY, LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF A%W" STREET NW AND
4 SOUTH 318TH STREET

6 WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, has received
7 Application No ANX0001-98 petitioning the City to annex a
8 3 41 acre parcel of land located on the west hill, south of
9 the City' s watershed and southeast of the Evergreen Heights
10 elementary school; and
11 WHEREAS, at the regular City Council meeting held April
12 6, 1998 , the City Council authorized City staff to prepare the
13 necessary annexation petition stating that said area, if
14 annexed by the City of Auburn, will assume the pro rata
15 portion of the existing bonded indebtedness of the City of
16 Auburn; and
17 WHEREAS, on May 5, 1998 the petition was received by the
18 City of Auburn, which petition was signed by the property
19 owners, representing 100% of the valuation of the property,
20 lying within the limits of the proposed area to be annexed,
21 according to the assessed valuation for general taxation; and
22 WHEREAS, on June 1, 1998 the Auburn City Council
23 scheduled a public hearing to be held on June 15, 1998; and

1 WHEREAS, on June 15 , 1998 the City Council held a public
2 hearing at 7 30 p m in the Council Chambers of the Auburn
3 City Hall, at which time the City Council recommended approval
4 of said annexation and instructed that the notice of intention
5 be forwarded to the King County Boundary Review Board
6 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
7 WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
8 RESOLVES THAT
9 Section 1. The City of Auburn hereby requests the King
10 County Boundary Review Board to approve the annexation of a
11 3 41 parcel of land located at the northwest corner of "W"
12
Street and South 318"'
13
Section 2 . The City Council finds that the annexation is
14
consistent with the City of Auburn' s goals and policies
15
related to annexations as enumerated in Chapter 13 of the
16
City' s Comprehensive Plan
17
Section 3 . The City Council further finds that the
18
19 annexation is consistent with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan
20 of the City for orderly and controlled growth, and
21 accomplishes the purposes and objectives specified in RCW
22 36 93 010 based on the facts herein

I Section 4 . The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
2 such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
3 out the directives of this legislation
