A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
4 WASHINGTON, APPROVING "REVISED PROPOSAL ON REGIONAL FINANCE
5 AND GOVERNANCE" OF THE SUBURBAN CITIES ASSOCIATION OF KING
COUNTY AS A BARGAINING POSITION FOR THE SUBURBAN CITIES
6 ASSOCIATION
7 WHEREAS, the Suburban Cities Association of King County
8
(SCA) , of which the City of Auburn is a member, in April 1998
9 rejected an initial Draft Regional Finance and Governance
10
(RFG) Plan introduced to the Growth Management Planning
11 Council of King County (GMPC) ; and
12 WHEREAS, the SCA Board of Directors assembled an RFG
13
"Steering Committee" to develop a revised proposal to submit
14
to the GMPC; and
15
WHEREAS, the RFG Steering Committee compiled responses
16
from 30 of 37 SCA member cities to a questionnaire related to
17
the RFG issue, including the City of Auburn; and
18
WHEREAS, the RFG Steering Committee worked for two months
19
to devise consensus recommendations to submit to the SCA
20
membership; and
21
WHEREAS, the SCA draft Revised Proposal responds to many
22
of the issues and concerns raised in the City of Auburn' s
23
response to the SCA questionnaire

I NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
2 WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
3 RESOLVES THAT
4 Section 1. The "Suburban Cities Association Revised
5
Proposal on Regional Finance and Governance" is approved as
6
the SCA bargaining position for the Association at the Growth
7
Management Planning Council
8
Section 2 . The Mayor is hereby authorized to take the
9
10 necessary steps to communicate this action to the Suburban
Cities Association
11
