Board Meeting Minutes
August 15, 2012, 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Muckleshoot Room, White River Valley Museum
Board Members Present: Jamie Bothell, Pat Cavanaugh, Megan Evans, Julie Herren, Gerry Honeysett, Joan Mason, Kim Perry, Mark
Thomason, Mike Weibel
Board Members Excused: Richard Artura, Rhonda Larson, Mike Miller,
Members Absent: Cam Cutler, Ken Nelson
Staff Present: Kristen Bruhahn, Rachael Burrum, Erin Hash, Hilary Pittenger
Call to Order, Introductions, Approval of Minutes
President Megan Evans called the meeting to order at 1:40 pm.
Minutes of the June meeting were reviewed, Mike Weibel made a motion followed by Jamie Bothell to accept the
minutes as written, Motion Passed. As an icebreaker activity, President Evans asked board members to share memories of
Halloween costumes.
Museology 101— Board of Directors member and Guest Curator, Mark Thomason, provided an interesting tour of the
current exhibit "Stills in the Hills ".
Board President Report
President Evans reviewed of Museum Calendar making note of the upcoming committee meetings and volunteer
opportunities with emphasis on the upcoming event `Hops & Crops ". The recent nuptials of Hilary Pittenger was
announced. The open positions on the board were addressed and Jamie Bothell suggested the name of a potential
member.
III. Committees
Treasurer Jamie Bothell reviewed current standing on each line item of the treasurer's report, as well as reviewing the
O.P.M. grants awarded & applied.
Chair Kim Perry reviewed progress being made planning for the Halloween Costume Ball which will be held on October 27
at the Truitt Building. As promise for rapid responders, Rhonda, Mike and Megan will each find 2 bottles of wine on their
tables at the event.
The attendance goal is 25 tables each seating 8 persons. All board and staff are obliged to be involved in this event. Kim
Perry sought feedback on board members progress in acquiring commitments for donation items, attendance and
sponsorships.
IV. Staff Report
Staff member Rachael Burrum has organized a Kickstarter campaign with discouraging initial response. It is hoped that
board members will both spread the information and consider donation to make this effort a successful support of the
museum.
Board members and their family & friends are encouraged to come to the Hops & Crops Brew Festival on September 15.
V. President Evans adjourned the meeting at 2:28 p.m.
