I. CALL TO ORDER
The Human Services Committee Meeting was calied to order on Monday, June 23, 2012 at
2:00 p.m. at One Main Street, Auburn, WA.
Committee Members oreseM: Barbara Derda, Bette Van Gasken,Chuck Baoth,JoAnne Watters,Jason Berry,
Suzanne Limric and Tony Ladner
Committee Members not oresent: Lela.Brugger; Daryl Thompson and Michael Harbin
Staff oresent Community Services Project Assishant Kirsten Reynolds, Community Services Manager
Michael Hursh arid Mayor Pete Lewis
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
• Review of June 11, 2012 minutes
o Member Booth motioned to accept the June 11, 2012 minutes; Member Ladner
seconded the motion. Ail Committee Members were in favor of adopting the
minutes as submitted.
■ The June 11, 2012 minutes were approved.
III. AGENDA
• 2013-2014 Human Services Funding Applications
Mayor Lewis spoke to the Committee regarding the process and importance of the funding
priorities. The City of Aubum's process has been established by its Mayor, City Council,
and Human Services Committee. The priorities are those which:
The funcling priorities:
1) improve access to healthcare
2) reduce poverty
3) meet basic needs
4) provide services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault
5) increase services to abused and neglected children
IV ADDITIONAL TOPICS - Discussion took place regarding several topics in the community
