Tuesday, December 4, 2012 Meeting Minutes
Present: Greg Watson, Cary Davidson, Heidi Harris, Dan Norman, Ronie Schwend, Nickole
Evans, Arts & Events Manager Julie Brewer Excused: Patricia Judd, Colleen Maloney, Leslie
Moore, Tanya Rottle, DeNae McGee
Call to Order, Approval of Minutes, Introductions and Approval of Minutes: Chairperson
Greg Watson called the meeting to order at 5:45 pm. Ronnie Schwend moved to approve the
October and November 2012 meeting minutes and Nikole Evans seconded the motion. All
approved. Motion approved
I. Voting for Vice -Chair
At the November meeting Colleen Malone and DeNae McGee were nominated for the position
of vice chair. DaNae McGee declined the nomination. Being no additional nominations Ronnie
Schwend moved to elect Colleen for the Vice Chair position in 2012. Nikole Evans seconded the
motion. All approved. Motion approved.
II. Outgoing Commissioner
The Arts Commission by -laws designate two terms of three years. It was shared with the
Commision that Tanya Rottle's second term expires at the end of 2013. She has been an
extremely valuable member to the commission during her past two terms and her service to the
Commission will be missed.
Greg Wastson reflected on his term of service as Commission Chair and noted he has been
delighted to serve on the Commision during his first three -year term. He noted that he has
looked at other cities around the region with larger budgets and larger populations and is awed
at the City of Auburn's support of arts.
III. Updates /Upcoming Events
The January meeting will occur the second week of January on January 8 because of the New
Years Holiday.
IV. Adjourn
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
