COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON COMMITTEES
Minutes
December 8, 1997
I. Call to Order
Chair Rich Wagner called the meeting to order at 7•05 p.m. in the Council
Work Area located on the main floor of Auburn City Hall.
II. Attendance
Those in attendance included Chair Wagner and Committee members
Jeanne Barber and Trish Borden. Mayor Charles Booth and City Clerk
Danielle Daskam were also present.
III. New Business
A. Designate Committee Structure and Assi4nments for all Standing
Commitees of the City Council for 1998
Chair Wagner distributed suggestions for 1998 Committee structure
and assignments. The Committee agreed with the membership
assignments as suggested. The Committee discussed meeting
times of the committees and the responsibilities of each committee.
It was consensus of the Committee to recommend the following
1998 Committee structure and assignments for Council approval:
The Public Works Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. on the second
and fourth Mondays of each month. Members of the Committee
include: Chair Rich Wagner, Vice Chair Fred Poe, and Member
Gene Cerino. The Committee's scope of responsibility shall be:
Makes recommendations to the City Council as a whole on
policies relating to water and sanitary sewer utilities, storm
drainage, streets and policy matters involving construction,
building inspection, engineering, and equipment
maintenance and operations. This Committee will
coordinate equipment rental matters with the Finance
Committee and utility and streets property matters with the
Municipal Services Committee.
The Finance Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third
Mondays of each month. Members of the Committee include:
Chair Jeanne Barber, Vice Chair Rich Wagner, and Member Pete
Lewis. The Committee's scope of responsibility shall be:

In addition to the normal monitoring of the financial
expenditures of the approved budget, this committee will
make recommendations to the City Council as a whole on
policies relating to personnel, municipal court, and legal.
The Planning and Community Development Committee will meet at
6:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
Members of the Committee include: Chair Trish Borden, Vice Chair
Sue Singer, Member Pete Lewis. The Committee's scope of
responsibility shall be:
Makes recommendations to the City Council as a whole on
policies relating to land use planning, zoning, annexation,
human services, parks and recreation, arts, museum, library,
and senior center
The Municipal Services Committee will meet at 5:00 p.m. on the
first and third Mondays of each month. Members of the Committee
include: Chair Fred Poe, Vice Chair Gene Cerino, and Member
Sue Singer The Committee's scope of responsibility shall be:
Makes recommendations to the City Council as a whole on
policies relating to police and fire, jurisdiction of all public
buildings for the maintenance and construction (exclusive of
utility buildings), emergency planning, cable television,
telecommunications, solid waste, airport, golf course,
cemetery, and City real property transactions including sale,
lease, right-of-way use, acquisition, and donations. This
committee will coordinate property transactions with other
appropriate Council Committees.
Membership on the Council Committee on Committees shall
include: Chair Rich Wagner, Vice Chair Jeanne Barber, and
Member Trish Borden.
Jeanne Barber will be Mayor Pro Tem.
There are two legislative positions on the Law Enforcement Officers
and Fire Fighters Disability Board. The two positions will be filled
by Gene Cerino and Pete Lewis.
