MINUTES
December 16, 1996
I. Call to Order
Chair Stacey Brothers called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM in the Council
Work Area located on the main floor of Auburn City Hall.
II. Attendance
Those in attendance included Committee members Jeanne Barber and Rich
Wagner Mayor Charles A. Booth and City Clerk Robin Wohlhueter were also in
attendance.
III. New Business
A. Designate members of all Standing Committees of the City Council of the
City of Aubum for 1997
Rich Wagner distributed Suggestions for 1997 Committee Structure and
Assignments for the Auburn City Council.
Councilmember Wagner proposed a 5th Council committee to manage
and focus on city land acquisitions, sales, and right-of-way issues.
Councilmember Wagner felt better management in this area is necessary
in order to maximize the value in the sale and purchase of real property
for the City, and to look at communication right-of-way as a potential
revenue source.
The Committee discussed whether or not there would be enough
business to establish another standing committee. A suggestion was
made to conduct a workshop to provide the City Council an inventory of
real property Then a determination can be made rf a task force is needed
for the purpose of land acquisitions, sales, leases, donations, franchises,
right-of-way, and condemnations.
The Council Committee on Committees discussed the remaining
committee structure, assignments, and meeting times for 1997 It was
agreed that meetings will occur at the same time per month, and duties
and responsibilities of the Standing Committees will remain the same as
1996.

Assignments are as follows:
The Finance Committee will meet at 7:00 PM rather than 6:30 PM.
Members of the Committee are Jeanne Barber, Chair, Stacey Brothers,
Vice Chair, and Sue Singer, Member
The Municipal Services Committee will meet at 4:30 PM. Members of the
Committee are Stacey Brothers, Chair, Fred Poe, Uce Chair, and Trish
Borden, Member
The Flanning & Community Development Committee will meet at 7:30
PM. Members of the Committee are Trish Borden, Chair, Rich Wagner,
Vice Chair, and Jeanne Barber, Member
The Public Works Committee will meet at 5:30 PM. Members of the
Committee are Rich Wagner, Chair, Fred Poe, Vice Chair, and Gene
Cerino, Member
There are two legislative positions on the Law Enforcement Officers and
Fire Fighters Disability Board. The two positions will be filled by Gene
Cerino and Sue Singer If Sue Singer agrees, she will fill Jeanne BarbePs
unexpired term on the LEOFF Board.
Mayor Pro Tem will be Jeanne Barber The Committee on Committees
assignment will be as follows: Stacey Brothers, Chair, Rich Wagner, �ce
Chair, and Jeanne Barber Member
A conflict of interest resolution meeting group with regard to City of
Auburn Administrative Policy and Procedure No. 200-06, Outside
Employment, will include Mayor Charles A. Booth, Stacey Brothers, and
Jeanne Barber
Motion by Councilmember Wagner, second by Councilmember Barber to
recommend Council approval of the above referenced assignments.
Chair Brothers concurred.
