study session and that these should be held the fourth Monday of

staff om the topic and will also include defining the roles of
eaeh. Sufficient time should be left for discussion.
. The Council and Mayor also agreed that the eight elected offi-
cials should get together and discuss various City issues.
However, it was felt that this should be done in the evenings
rather than on Saturday mornings. It was agreed that the time
for the elected officials to get together would be in the months
that have a fifth Monday, i.e. May (may not be appropriate as
this is a holiday) , August, and October. The Mayor requested
Council input on topics for those workshops.
The Council and Mayor then discussed city-wide goals for 1983.
There was a general discussion about all five broad policy goals
and sub-goals. The Council asked that goal No. 3 foz Finance be
slightly rewzitten for clarification.
Councilmember Kurle asked that a Storm Water policy sentence be
added to the council goals. The mayor indicated that one would
be drafted and discussed with Councilmember Rurle before it was
added to the goal package.
The Council indicated an interest in having an additional goal
added to the Public Safety category. This would be goal III. A.
6. which would strongly encourage the City administration to
emphasize the need for public education and information regarding
public service activities. The mayor indicated that the addition
 would be made.
