Mayor Roegner braight the City Oouncil.me�nbers up-to-date oa► the proposed 1987 b�dget a�nd discussed three options for resolving budgetary shortfalls. Finance Direct�r, Pat Dugan, pmvided the City douncil the b�kgrowid and information that was utilized by the a�ainistrati� 6o arrive at its projections for 1987. He also presented the Finance Departrnent's budget and handed out a oost analysis for the printing press in Finance. Persoimel Direcbor, Gretel Sl.oan, prwided the Council inforn�ati� oa► the pro- posecl Personnel budget for 1987 and hiqhlighted the Mayor's recomnendatioa► bo add the position of Personnel Analyst. Mary Mcaaober, Directpr of Planning arid Oca�nunity Develo�anent, indicated the only budget difference between 1986 aad 1987 for the Planning Department was for the transfer of ongoing program fonding from Plannning to Finance. She also identified the major el�oents of the 1987 work plan, particularly implementing ordinances necessary for the QoHnprehensive Land Ose Plan and the Downtown Plan. Library Director, Mary Stanton, provided the Q�uncil an update on the proposed 1987 Library budget and also brought the Oow�cil up-to�ate a� the status of the five yeaz plan for the library which she indicated would be ahead of schedule with the addition of the clerical hours reocemiended by the Mayor and Library Hoard in the 1987 budget. City Attorr►ey Jack Bereiter, updated the City Wuncil on the proposed 1987 Legal De�art�nent budget a� in8icated the discrepancy in his figures arid the Mayor's zecamnendatio�n related to additional information � district oourt fees being prwicled after he had turned his n�obezs into the Finance Department. �i]man Rurle asked for xerox c�opies of the three options the Mayor presented with transparencies.
