on fittings on1y; Pecific Water Works biddirig on fittings only;
and U .S. Pipe 8 Found�y Co. bidd:ing on �bipe and fittings.
These bids were referred to "the Purchasing Commit�e�.
STREET IMPROVEMENT BIDS
Bids for street widening of certain street in the City of
Auburn were received from De Coria Co. quoting $39.347.20 and
R. L. Moso and Co. quoting �48,269.50.
These bids were referred to .the Engi_neer and Street .Committee
The Street Committee and Engineer asked for a shor.t recess ,to
con§i,der these bids.. Permission granted. , . .
-The meeting was calfed back to order by Mayor Denise.
it was moved by Stalder and 2nd by Towner that the bids be
aaarded to the I"ow bidder, Da Coria Co. '

of the unsuccessful bidder be returned.

Councilman Fitzsimmons reported for the License Committee on
the go-cart p�oblem saying he had talked with Mr. Wadkins and he — { �
had�,ag�eed that no car will be ailowed on the track without a -
muffle� except on the two ( 2) race days per month . He further -
said that a cyclone fence had been put up and a 8 ' board fense
aill be placed inside the cyclone fence.
Councilman Fitzisfimmons felt that Mr. Wadkins should have a
police patrolman or Deputy Sherriff direct traffic on the race day
end that a time limit of 10 a.m. to 6:00 or 6:30 p.m, be set on
rece days. ,

Councilman Stalder reported for the Street Committee asking
that the reouest of the Telephone Co. for parking meters in front
of .their office at 107 No. Division be held up.
Councilman Stalder reported for the Street Committee and Engi eer

and the N .P . Railroed for curb and gutter, recommending that the
property owners hoFd 'up, any �equeat because they f�it the st te, i

relating to and providing for the annexation of a contiguous area
of land lying adjacent to Ehe westerly marginal line of the
existing city limits of the City of Auhurn, to the City of Auburn,
which land is described in s petition duly filed wfth the Cierk
of the City of Auburn, be adopted with the following rell call

off-street parking purposes, fixing the terms and conditions for `

It was moved by Fitzsimmons and 2nd by Kammeycr that Ordinance �
# 1389, entitled, An Ordinance of the City o� Auburn, W�hington,?
� authorizing end providing for a sublease of cettain real properties
in the City of Auburn, Washington, .by the City of Auburn., for
off-street parking purposes, fixing the: terms and conditions of
the sublease, and authorizing the proper officers of the city to
execute such sublease on behalf of the City, be introduced and
adopted with the following: roll call vote being recorded: Aaby,
yes; Kammeyer, yes; Stalder, yes; Fitzsimmons, yes; Towner, yes;
PARKING MEl'ER LEASE AGREEMENT
A lease and bid proposal , for parking meters in: the. three
city parking lots, was received from, the Duncan Miller. Meter 'Co. �
Councilman Towner said that the City had purchaseal meters from
this company before and so they got e quanity price.
It was moved by Kammeyer and 2nd by .Towner that the I�iayor
and City Clerk be authorized to�.sign the agreement .:�ith..the Duncan.

It was moved by Kammeyer and 2ne by Fit2simmons that Ordinance
# 1390, entitled, An Ordinance of the City of Auburn, Washington,
relating to and providing for the improvement of a portion of
Hilen 's Park addition to �Auburn and County tax lot ( 03 in section
19, Township 21 , North RAnge 5-EWM,, ; all situated in the City of
Auburn by the construction of water mains, all in accordance with
e petition signed by a majority of the effected property owners
end filed with the city Clerk of said Csity and a certificatio�
of the City Engineer of said city that a majority of the effected
property owners, having signed the petition, and that ail of the
facts set forth in said petition are true and that the estimated
cost to the property will not exceed the fimit established by law,
and creating a Local Improyement Distrcits p¢oviding, for the�ent
necessary proposed improvements, prescribing the mode of pay
of assessments and creating a L. I .D, Fund and creating a L. I .D.

WATER SUPT. REPORT .
The Water Supt. said that Dick Wolff, the consulting Engineer,
was paid out of the consulting Engineer portion of the Water Dpt.
budget, for the Engineering �ork that was done on the bond issue.
He asked for permission to turn in a voucher to the Bond
Fund so this money could be returned to the Water Fund.
It was moved by Kammeyer and 2nd by Aaby that the request of
the Weter Supt. be granted.

Councilman Kemmeyer reported on the edmission tex saying thet
Ordinance � 1307 repealed the admission tax.

HARYE REQUEST
�he City Clerk rea� a letter from Mr. Harye request( ng permission
for a Pawnbrokers Ilcense at 36 W. hiain. '
This was referred to the License Committee.
PETITION
A petition was received from the property owners on F St. S.E.
27th St:' 28th St . , and 29th St. S. E. for safety signs, speed
limit precautions and road improvements.
This petition was referred to the Street Committee for
inve5t.igation.
' N.P.R.R. C0. PETITIbN
A petition aas received from the N .P. Railroad Co. to the
Wash. public Service Commission, advising them that the city was
in accordance with the clasing of the D St. S.E. underpass.
It was moved by Kammeyer and 2nd by Stalder that the Mayor
be suthorized to sign the petition.

A reauest was received from thc City Engineer to authorize
him to sign the acceptence of two streets in the City of Auburn/ �
It was moved by Toaner and 2nd by Fitzsimmons that the Engineer
be suthorized to sign this acceptance.

A resolution was received from Renton asking that tha City
of Auburn sign the resolution to endorce a flood control `program.
It wss moved by Aaby & 2nd by Kammeyer that the City of' Aubur
adopf thc resolution and authorize the Mayor and City�Clerk to
sigm the resolution. , - •�

WARRANTY DEED
The City Attorney submitted a statuary Warranty Deed from
' the First Methodist Church deeding to the City property for street
pueposes.
It was moved by �owner and 2nd by Kammeyer that the City
Attorney be authorized to record the deed. _

CURB PAINTING '
!4'ic8aue§t was made to the Council for permission to paint
, house numbers on the curb.
The City Attorney said there is no o.rdin.ance. prohi,6iting
such a request.

be tabled until the next meeting.

� Bill Raven requested the Mayor and City Council act a§ a
hoast to the Govenor an June Iith, Paint Up Day. The Gov�or
� will arrive at 9:30 AM.
The Mayor saicJ he would be glad to do this. .
GO CARTS
Paul McDonnell of 1420 21st St. S.E. came be�rore the Councii
protesting the go-carts.
Councilman Fitzsimmons explained the action of the License
Committee on this matter.
The City Attorney said the property owners could file their
own privatenuisance action in the superior court of King County.
