Councilman Torner reported� that the request f�om property
oaners on F St. S.E. between 27th and 29th for sefety signs, speed
I.imit precastions and road improvement has been considered by the
Street Committee. The signs have been installed butthe road
improvement would be thep�operty owners concern.

WATER COMMITTEE
Councilman Kammeyer stated that specifications from Richard
Woiff; Consulbing Engineer, for�the water tower were 'ready.
It v�as moved by Kammeyer and 2nd by Towner .that the City
Cierk ba instructed to cell for bids on the �sater torer and
published in the offieial �paper and also the Daily Jounnal of
Commerce, specifications �can `be picked up at Richard Wolff's �
office in Seattle, bids to be opened on June 21 , 1960. '

Councimman Kammeyert also reported that they will call for
bids on the West hill chlorinat�r as soon as they have clearance .

Councilman Kanneyer stated that the W�ter Dept. employed a
man';,from the Street Dept, an8 that thms employee is entit:led 20
a pe;id vacation. He wou(d like this vacation pey charged to the
Street Dept. because the v,acation was earned while working for
th i s�Dept. -� . ,
It was moved by Towner and 2nd by Fitzsimmons that .the City
Clerk be instructed to deduct the vacation pay for Ben Liesmaki
f�om the Street Dept. fund. �

Councilman Kammeyer reouasted permission fo� the Water
Committee and Water Supt. to be able to negociate �iith Rohr on
purchssinq the water line from them so the City would be free
to hook onto this line without first obtaining permission from
_ Rohr,.
The Mayor stated this reauest would be granted. '
Councilman Kammeyer also inquired about the bond issue for
remodeling the Jail .
It ass moved by Aaby and Qnd by Kammeyer that the City Clerk
be instructed to call for bids for archetectural servi.ees for
remodelinq the City jail , bids being opened on June 21 , 1960.

The property owners have given a verbal request for a petitio
for en L. I .D. for street oiling. There are othe� petitions for
' L. I .D, referred to the Finance Committee and this should also be
referred to them.
It Mas moved by Toaner and 2nd by Kammeyer thet this petition
be refe�red to the Finance Committee.

M�. Sheldon requested something be done about the ( ntersectio
of 2nd & C St. S.E. The cars are parked from the va�y eorne� baek
and vision in the first lane of traffic is completely blocked.

MRS. LUCKCUCK
Mrs. Luckcuck requested info�mation about painting house
numbers on the curbs. The Boy Scouts have already requested permi sion
to do this.
S.B. HAUGE
Mr. S.6. Hauge protested the high cost for an auctioneers
� license. He reeuested this license 16e changed to comply with
other city licenses.
This aas referred to the License Committee.
GO CART PROTEST
Alr. Dabbit protested against the go-carts making so much
noise. He s�-ated they have been operating beyond the hours recom-
mended by the License Committee.
Mr. Wadkins stated that he has been doing eve�ything the
License Committee has �equested. The City Attorney stated the
License Committee should investigate the situation again and make
positive decisions before inacting the nnisance ordinance.
This request was referred to the License Committee.
Mr. MeDonald stated that he has hired an attorney and will su
the City if something isn't done about the qo=carts.

TRANSFER ORDERS
, The City Clerk presented two transfer o�d'ers. One order
transfering $1 �750.00 from the Water and Sevre� D'ept. ' to ttie Bond
and Interest Fund for redemption and interest .on Sewer Bonds.
It was moved by Kammeyer and 2nd by Aaby that the City
Treasu�er be authorized to transfer this money.
MOTION CARRIED .
The other transferring $24,000.00 from the Street Oept. to
the Current Expense Fund 'for repayment of transfer loans. '
It was moved by Petersen and 2nd by Towner that tha City
Treasurer be authori2ed`to transfer this money .

- The City Clerk read a letter from C.W. Hawley, Scout Master,
revuest permission for the Boy Scouts to paint house numbers on
the curbs.

something be done about tao horses on the lot next to their house.
They heve caused considerable damage to his property and cause an

to attend the Western Washington hearings in June.

The City Attorney stated that the City Clerk should be given
authority to pay the rent- on the parking lot across from the City
' Hallfrom April Ist, tbru Mey Ist.

City Clerk be authorized to make this payment in the sum of $100.0 .
