The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Auburn
he:l_d at 8:00 P.M, in the Couneil Chambers at the City. Hall to arar

The meeting aas ealled to order, by Mayor Shaughnessy. �
Councilmen Present: Aaby, Petersen, Kammeyer;,, Fitzsi'mmons;
Sonnemann, Towner, GaEnes .
Councilmen Absent: None

� Bill Rav,en inquired whether Johnson had the necessary permits.
and Aaby: said Johnson had told h (m he had made arrangements for- .
seeu�ing seme.
It• was movem by Kammeyer and 2nd by Aaby that the 1961 garbag
contract be awarded to Norman G. Johnson under the terms proVided'
in his 6id for all of the area in the city not eove�ed by the
franchi:ss owned by Shaw Disposal and also any a�ea now: covered by
fran,chi;ses whieh viil expire du�tng the current year .after said
expi�ation, with the following roll call vote being recorded: �
Aaby, yes; Pete�sen; yes; Kammeyer, yes; Fitzsimmons,: yes;
Sonnemann, yes; Toaner, yes; Gaines, yes;
It was moved by Kammeyer and 2nd by Fitzsimmons that theMayor
and Cit.y Cle�k be authorized to sign an agreement aith .the Shaw
Disposal .Co, for garbage service during:the year 1961 for the
areas he; has under franchise for such time as franchises cove�
during current year at- prices. quoted in his bid and provid7ng �
, that the Clty agrees to do the billing for same,; with the fol!low"in
roll calt , vote being recorded: Aaby; yes; Pete�sen, yes; Kammeyer,
yes; Fitzsimmons, yes; Sonnemann, yes; Towner, yes; Gaines, yes;
- City Attorney, Robert Smythe, reported the attorney for the
i I civil se�v.iee commission had �otified him that he is petitioning
for rehearing of the case imvolving local patrolmen and the Civil
Service ,Board. The hearing was originally planned fo� Friday,
Decemben;2, •but Judge Royal ;s absence fo� two weeks has �ecessit8t
a postponement.-
