PUBLIC HEARING None ,�� B'I DS ' Bids were reaeived 5rom the following for the construction of. a storage building at the Disposal Plant: Thomas Construction � b.idding $9941 . 36; lAoward Ehle' b�idding $84'91 .96, alternate $7055.32 Auburn Construction bidding $82E8.00, alternate $7749.00; Hedman Construction bidding �8096. 16, alternate $6702.07; Lone Bros. bidding $9046. 38. These bids were referred to the Water Committee, Consulting Enginee'r and �eorge Aaby with power to act. Bids were received from the foliowin g for supplying the Polic Dept. with a new prowler car: Hawkins Pontiac bidding $1883.57 with trade; Brewer Motors bidding $1265.00 with trade; Scarff Motors bidding $1187.78 with trade; Valley Motors bidding $1690.00 with trade. These bids were referred to the Police Committee CORRESPONDENCE CLARK-COLEMAN & ASSOCIATES � The City Clerk read a progress report from Clark-Coleman & Associates. Work is completed on the new zoning ordinance and ' public h'earing set for January ( 2, 1961 . Approx.imatefy b0 percent. � of the project is completed. The letter was ordered filed. AUBURN G�O�E-NEWS The City Clerk read a letter from theAuburn Giobe-New's protesting the pubtication of the zoning ordinance in the Aubunn r� i Sun in the Oecember 29, 1960 Auburn Sun and setting forth their _ . reasons for the protest. The letter was referred to the Gity Attorney. PLANNING COMMISSION The City Clerk read the minutes. of. the January 3, 1961 , . , �� meeting of the Auburn Planning Commission in which the secreta�y � - of the commission . was instructed to advertise the public hearing on the proposed new zoning o�dinance for January 19, 1961 . Workman for a license change. It was moved by Fitzsimmons and 2nd by Sonnemann that the Counci1 approve. the. iicense change and grant one more.taxi stand in firont of 31 East Main, MOTION CARRIED . The question. was raised regarding the curbing of the vacant lot and. it was ag�eed this will be the responsibility of. the property owners to' repair ;and replace at their expense. The City Engineer` is to so inform them. REPORT No report ENGINEER'S :REPORT ' The City Engineer stated the Telephone Co, had requested permission to lay underground conduit along the south side of 12th . E. from "A" S.E, to "H' S.E. and continue down the 5. W, side of State Nighway �5 to Howerd Road, Aiso the place Tape Armored cable from Howard Road along south side of Hwy #5 to a point opposite the F.A .A , bidg. It was moved by Petersen and 2nd by Towner that the Telephone Co. be granted this repoest. MOTION CARRIED POLICE CHIEF No report RESOLUTION #68 It was moved by Kammeyer and 2nd by Sonnemann that Resolution 68, entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, KING COUNTY, WASHIN�TON, . NEW BUSINESS ' The City Clerk read three bids for anitor service which had been submit�ed et tlie Mayor's request. �otal bids .which incfuded furnisfiing all equipment and supplies were: Suburban Janitor � ervice $300.00; Kenny's Janitor Service, $405 .00; Don Walker indow Cleaners $315.00. The Council decided to leave the awarding of the janitor contract to the Mayor, #he contract to be on a month to month basis The Mayor stated Ae has appointed R. K . Calkins as Fire Chief subject to a civil service examination within the next four rriont . � Ed Dray has been appointed temporarily as Assistant C,hief pending a civil service examination .
