MR. � MRS. JOSEPH RAMBER
A letter from MC , & Mrs . Joseph R�mbur was read calling
attention of the councii to property at 222 8th Street Southeast
which they claim is covered with rubbish and unsightly buildings
making it a fire hazard. The property, they claim, is also
infested with rodants.
Joseph Rambur who was present stated that he would like to
see somethinc done about the deplor�ble condition of the property.
�Jayor shauqhnessy said that he would inform the Fire Chief
and Health Officer �bout tne pr.operty, and that the Buifding
inspector would see to 'it that the buildinc adhered to the city
code.

ne is the owner.

A notice of claim of lien on contract retention fund by Gill
& Riverside against the Nelson Ulery Contract `rom Duane S.
F�dliff, their attorrey, was read.
City Attorney Smythe said that he had written a letter to
then stating the cl �im was not applicable as our contract with
Ulery for removcl of timber was on a sales basis with no provision
for a retainage.
GLENN R. L. YORK
A letter from Glenn R. L. York was read requesting the City
to have Np Parkino on Ist Street from "C" Street east to "D"
Street between the Buick �araae and the �dobil gas station and also
on "C" from Ist to --2nd at : the same corner from E:GO A ,M, to noon
on March 17, 1952, at which time the P�looilgas Mileage Run with
students of Auburn & Federal Hiah School particip�ting ��rould be '
held.
This reouest was referred to the Street Committee and the Poiice
Department.

� letter from the ,4uburn Chamber of commerce was read asking
that the City of Auburn consider the pessage of an anti - litter
Ordinance. It also invited the i�1ayor and City CounCii to attend
a meetir�q of the Beautification Committee to be held Friday noon,
February 9, 1462 at tarl ' s Broiler.

The City Clerk stated that Lawrence Benson is retirina, as of
P+larch the first. The prior service date of Lawrence Benson was
' in error and it will take a motion by the Councif to correct same.

Tom Boiton, 6','ater �upt. , reported that � Nir. Knight was
loocinc forty acres directly cast of the �'iest Hill property, and
the only v�ay he had o� 5etting his timber out r�as through the
City of Auburn property. He offeced the city 50 cents per
Thous�nd to haul the timber over the property .
Tom Bolton reported thet the Telephene Company is planning
dn outtin� c conduit down the alley South of the City Hall from
"B" Stceet to Division 5treet. He said that the water line which
' runs oown this alley needs replacing and the Telephone Company has
stated rhat they will break out extra width when digging for the
corduit. so that the City could ley a new line if the City of
Auburn 'r.'ater Department would backfill the excavation and pave ' it .
Mayor Shauahnessy stated the Viater �uperintendent and the
t'iater Conmittee have authority to make such an arrangement .
