It was moved by Lea and seconded by Aaby that the City P,Ianning Director arite a letter to the State Highway Committee �°endorsi'ng the stand of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce on the widening of the East Valley Highaay to four lanes. The total turned i�to the City - Treasurer for the three month period was $15287.25. � REQUEST APPROVAL FOREST RIDGE PLAT A letter received from Hugh 6. GoldsmiSh and Associetes " ' requested the approval of the proposed plat of Forest Ridge located ;1 in the City of Auburn. ` � It was moveii by Kammeyer and seconded by Knechtel that this�- plat be referred to the Planning Commission. MOTION CARRIED GEORGE J. .KITCHELL PETITION TO REZONE A petition received from George J. Kitehell requested the rezoning of property located at 3203 Enumclaw Highaay from R-2 to C-I . This petition was signed by five property orners lying aithin a 200 foot radius of this property stating they have no objections to the proposed zoning. It was moved ,by Gaines and seconded .by Kammeyer that ttiis petition be refe�red to the Planning Commission. ' ' �� MOTION CARRIED . AGREEMENT WITH PACIFIC NORTHWEST BELL FOR DIAL PRIVATE BRANCH EXCHANGE SERVICE , An agreement was received from Pacifir Northwest Bell to furnishy instell and maintain o� the premises at 20 A St. 'Northaest, Auburn, Washington mechanical equipment required to provide the dial peivete , branch exchange service. " It was moved by Kammeyer and seconded by Sonnemann that the .City Clerk & Mayor be instructed to sign the contract' aith Pacific Northvrest Bell , with the following roli call vote being recorded:_ � Aaby, yes; Lea, yes• Kammeyer, yes; Fitzsimmons, yes; Sonnemann, yes; • Knechtel , yes; and �aines, yes. MOTION CARRIED INTERNATIONAL DUMP TRUCK SWORN STATEMENT fN PROFF OF LOSS " A statement received from the Employers' Fire Insurance Company of the damages caused by vandals on a 1962 International Dump Truck- required the signature of the City Clerk to accept the amount of the claim and to release the company from further liability. � it was moved by Lea and seconded by Knechtel that the Counci:l accept the check for payment of damages and authorize the City Clerk to sign the release. ' MOTION CARRIED FRANK LIVENGOOD RETIREMENT A letter recieved from Statewide City Employee's Retirement � ', System reported that F�ank livengood will attain extended reticement age 69 yrs 8 months and should retire January I , 1963 uniess his � ret_irement date is extended 4 months to age 70 by acti�on of the Council . D. , D. P. H. , informing the Council that in accordance with Chapter .92 of the codified Rules and Regulations of the State Board of Health and the State Depart- � ment of. Health the, plans and specifications of Schedule I , G�een River Outfall Sewe� Line aere approved. A letter written to Mr. E. H. Thouren of the U . S. Public ' Health Service was read which transmitted approved plans and specifications Schedule #I , project number WPC-Wn- I10 to him f�om the Senior Engineer. . A letter was received f�om the Washington State Pollution Cont�ol Commission stating that in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Poliution Control Commission, the Pians and Specifications for the Sewerage Project Schedule �,I - " Outfall Line have been reviewed and are approved. PLAT OF CEDAR LANES FIVE The plat of Cedar Lanes Five .was presented to the Council for �approval . It was .moved by Aaby and seconded by Kammeye�' that the plat of Cedar Lanes Five be referred to the Planning Commission. MOTION CARRIED PROGRESS REPORT OF R. L. MOSS The Engineer's prog�ess report on the aork done by R. - L. Moss Construction Company on "R" Street Southeast; "J" St�eet. Southeast & 2nd Street Southeast was read giving the amount due R. L. It was moved by Kammeyer ..and seconded by Gaines that the Council give Tom Cox permission .to attend the. Po,llution Control " Convention October -24th through the 27th. . He asked the Council to give him their opinions on this pcoposed annexation. • Mayor Shaughnessy requested George Schuler to make an investigation i� this a�ea on the �possibllities for annexation. He also asked George Schule� to help any of the property oaners in the area who wished help in the drawing up of a � petition for annexation. , ;, ; ...; POLICE CHIEF No Report PARK SUPERINTENDENT George Freemire, Park Superintendent, reported that four trees had fallen during the storm, and they were still ' in the process of getting them clea�ed away, ORDINANCE N0.
