HomeMy WebLinkAbout4979 RESOLUTION NO. 4 9 7 9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE 2014-2019 SIX-YEAR TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM OF THE CITY OF AUBURN PURSUANT TO RCW CHAPTER 35.77 WHEREAS, the City is required to include projects on the 2014-2019 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) in order to be eligible to apply for grant funds from the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board; and WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 35.77.010, a public hearing to consider amending the 2014-2019 Transportation Improvement Program for the City of Auburn was held on August 19, 2013 at the hour of 7.30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Auburn City Hall, pursuant to notice published in the legal newspaper of the City of Auburn on August 9, 2013; and WHEREAS, said amendment to the 2014-2019 Transportation Improvement Program of the City of Auburn was approved by the City Council by motion duly made and carried in said hearing. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows: Section 1. There is attached hereto and denominated as Exhibit "A" and the terms of which are incorporated herewith by reference as though fully set forth, a designation of the streets within the corporate limits of the City of -------------------------- Resolution No. 4979 July 30, 2013 Page 1 of 3 Auburn to be improved in the manner therein set forth during the year set for the improvement of such street or streets. Section 2. That the City Engineer of the City of Auburn is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Washington State Department of Transportation for filing not more than thirty (30) days after the adoption of this Resolution. Section 3. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation. Section 4. The project extends from Auburn Way North to L Street NE,approximately 0.9 miles. Progress Summary: Staff is coordinating with the City of Kent and King County to complete annexation of the roadway Into the City of Auburn. Robertson Properties Group is participating in this project and is dedicating all necessary roadway frontage to the City. Consultant design started in 2013, ROW is expected to be completed in 2014 and construction In 2015. Future Impact on Operating Budget: The annual maintenance costs for this project is estimated to be$27,250.
