HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-18-2013 (2)Auburn Airport Advisory Board Minutes for September 18, 2013 Board Members Present: Visitors: Mark Babcock -Chair Don Peters Bob Jones John Theisen Josh Clearman- absent Jim Flynn -WPA Bob Myers George Comollo -GRCC Meeting Date: September 18, 2013 r : ][nr].:Jur City Staff Present: Bill Thomas, Economic Development Airport Management Present: Jamelle Garcia Kasey Maiorca Linda Eskesen Place: City Hall Annex Building, Conference Room1, Second Floor Approval of Minutes: A motion was made and seconded to accept the Airport Advisory Board Minutes of August 21, 2013. Old Business: Wildlife Hazard Assessment - The agreement between the City of Auburn and Mead Hunt is complete. Mead Hunt will determine if wildlife hazards exist at the airport. Engineering Consultant RFQ - The contract between the City of Auburn and Century West is completed and waiting for signed document. Airport Management RFP - No decision has been made. Reviewing additional information. New Business - 2014 Fee Schedule - Mr. Garcia presented a proposal for the 2014 airport hangar rental rates. After a review and discussion, the Advisory Board made a motion which was seconded and unanimously recommended to adopt. The recommendation will be sent to City staff. MAI Appraisal for 2015 Land Leases - Mr. Garcia explained to the board that an appraisal will need to be conducted as required by the City of Auburn airport land lease agreements between different tenants and associations. Land leases adjustments are usually made annually by the CPI and a formal MAI appraisal every (5) five years. Discussion: Paved area for Helicopters - A discussion regarding the increasing helicopter training traffic and their need for a practice area or fixed base operation for helicopters on the west side. After discussions it was concluded with a motion which was seconded and passed that the City prepare an RFP for potential development. The matrix was reviewed Meeting adjourned at 9:25 A.M.
