HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-16-2013 (2)Auburn Airport Advisory Board Minutes for October 16, 2013 Board Members Present: Visitors: Mark Babcock -Chair Don Peters Bob Jones John Theisen Josh Clearman- absent Jim Flynn -WPA Cal Hunziker -AOPA Neal Wooten- Spanaflight Meeting Date: October 16, 2013 r : ][nr].:Jur City Staff Present: Bill Thomas, Economic Development Shelley Coleman, Finance Director /Airport Supervisor Airport Management Present: Jamelle Garcia Kasey Maiorca Place: City Hall Annex Building, Conference Room1, Second Floor Introduction of Guests Approval of Minutes: A motion was made and seconded to accept the Airport Advisory Board Minutes of September 18, 2013. Old Business: Wildlife Hazard Assessment - Board members inquired who would do the assessment and how long it would take to complete. Mead & Hunt is the consultant for the WHA. November 2013 is planned for beginning of the project. Engineering Consultant RFQ - Mr. Garcia reported that has been signed and the first task order assigned for the asphalt work. 2013 will begin the design and scope of work and preparing the bid package for early 2014. Airport Management RFP -The Board was informed that the airport office would be moving to the 506 bldg. utilizing 1350 sq. ft. The remaining 1350 sq. feet could be rented to Washington Aviation Association. New Business - Review of Enterprise Fund- The City of Auburn enterprise fund was reviewed. Mr. Garcia prepared a report from the City of Auburn's working capital report provided by the City. Northwest Skyraiders -A motion was made and seconded and unanimously approved to renew the MOU for 2014. Airport Zone to be added to City Comprehensive Plan -Bob Jones said Councilman Rich Wagner wanted the Airport to be added to the Downtown zone. Mr. Thomas said discussions are underway to create an Airport Zone and add it to the City Comprehensive Plan. AAB Meeting Location- A motion was made seconded and unanimously approved that the next Airport Advisory Board meeting be moved to the Airport and a tour of the airport be provided during the meeting. Discussion: The matrix was reviewed Meeting adjourned at 9:30 A.M.
