murel buCnotunder the bridge. Rich will investigate.
IV. Old Business
Chair Bryce asks if there is an update on the Vegetation pruning, also wonders at whatpoint do we
contract out tree pruning? Horticulturist Rich says itwill be more of a push from our end but hasn't heard
anything from Mike. Secetary Julie adds that Mike told her we will invite the Vegetation staff the next
time they prune the trces on R St SE. Jamie asks at what point does the city contract this type of work
out, when it gets too dangerous? Oak at Sunbreak(Bryce) looked at then Eric in Vegetation told him that
we were handling it. There is a cluster ofabouf 20 treon Howard Road that Bryce looked at and Eric
said they were handling in house as well.
Bryce would like to appreach folks regarding the board openings, perhaps with an introduGOry/ invtte
letter from the Board Chair in a fomial torie. ]im Amold at Willow may be able to attend e meeting.
Jamie agrees that HOA folks would be a,great asset to the board, particularly from the Jornada
neighborhood or Wkeland, Lea Hiil, West Hill etcas they oPoen have tree related issues and they could
leam a lot from being on the board. ]an 5peer shares that Marsha Goodwin has filled out a dolunteer
application, she volunteers at the Autium Valley Humane Society as well.
]an asks about the Tree Board offering to partidpate in any of the local HOAnewsletters, or meetings
regarding tree care basics. Julie will follow up with Daryl.

VI. Board Recommendations/Input
Rich asks the board lf we want a presence/ booth at Kids Day? Jan says no. Maybe the 4"'of]uly
festival would be a better audience. 8ryce can work the event on the 4"' but would like his own booth.
We will need handouts(pruning), maybe some garden calendars. It would be a good resource for
answering questions. Jamie agrees beouse he gets 5—20 olisperweek regarding tree care. ]amie
encoureges folks to do what they can to save their trees because they are an amenity for their property.
Bryce suggests developing a flow chart with"yes"&"no", including process to either cut a tree or prune a
tree. Is it your tree or the Gty's tree? With different references of what to do, whether iYs'mll a
contractof or"call the Cify". It would be a handy tool for front desk folks, cidzens, event booth etc.
