CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of August 13,2013
The regularty scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held on August 13,2013 in Council
Conference Room located on the first floor of 25 West Main Street, Auburn, WA. The foliowing
members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Gene Cerino,Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson,and Member Huribut
STAFR PRESENT: Chief of Police Bob Lee, Civil Service Secretary/Examiner Gail Cannon, City Attorney
Dan Heid, HR Director Brenda Heineman, Employment Mgr. Geri Hiben, Police Guild President Doug
Faini
STAFF ABSENT: Assistant City Attorney Doug Ruth
ACTION:
Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson called the meeting to order at 331 pm.
Approval of the,July 9, 2013 Civil Service Commission meetingminutes:
• Motion to approve meeting minutes made by Member Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson;Second
by Member Hurlbut.
IVtotion approved.
Approval of the REVISED August 7,2013 Enrty Level Police Eligi6ility List:
• Motion by Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson;Second by Member Hurlbut,Chair Gene Cerino
concurred.
Eligibility list approved.
Executive Session:
• City Attorney recessed the meeting at 3:33 pm for approximately fifeteen minutes to discuss
potential litigation pursuant to RWC 42.30.110(1j(I). Department directors re_quired for
executive session were Human Resources Brenda Heineman,Chief of Police Bob Lee,City
Attorney Dan Heid.
• Commission reconvened the meeting at 3:43 pm.
