Jan walks on the Stuck River Trail on a regular basis and has seen a homeless man in a tent.
She contacted the police and they recommended contacting the owner, Mark Segale. She then
called Jason in Code Enforcement as the area was covered in trash and drug paraphernalia.
The person did get removed and the area is being cleaned up. Jason informed Jan that the City
is working on identifying property owners for accountability for these types of situations.
VII. Department Report (Miller)
The Veterans Day Parade was a wonderful event and we were lucky to have such great weather. This
year the parade had a record number of entries and the parade lasted 2 1/4 hours. The Vietnam
Travelling Wall was in town for the event. The Wall has around the clock security and a computer to
help folks locate names on the wall. The monument and missile was recently repainted at Veterans
Memorial Park. The 501h anniversary is coming in the next year or two for the parade. It was
challenging getting the parking lot finished up as Summer came to an end. The weather in September
was too rainy for ashphalt and concrete work, there was then a drainage issue. The lot was finally
complete about a week after the parade.
The Santa Parade will be held on Saturday, December 71h. The Santa House is up at the B Street Plaza.
Jan will be volunteering at the Breakfast with Santa on December 141h. She adds that it is a very fun
event.
Lea Hill Park is very well used and appreciated by the local citizens. The playground is one of the best
Mike has seen. A weathervane was donated by the architectural firm and will be installed after all the
leaves are finished falling.
VIII. Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:35 pm.
