L President Megan Evans called the meeting to order and asked the new faces around the
table to introduce themselves: Bill 5undqviSt is cold case detective with the Auburn Police, Dept
and i8 from Auburn; Tova Turner lives in Auburn and works for Green, River Comminity College;
Julie Sand is the Museum's new Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant, lives in Auburn and is
excited to be working iB her community.

and asked each to describe their favorite Christmas morning food' tradition.
For the Mmseo|mgy1Ol segment of the meeting, Hilary Pittenger, our Curator ofCollections,
presented a preview of the upcoming exhibit, Alpine Photography of George L Kinkade. As the
staff member with the deepest knowledge of Kimkade's work, Hilary was asked to serve as the
Guest Curator.
|L Megan then turned tm celebrating the work ofretiring board' members Richard Artura,
Mike Miller, Ken Nelson and Mark Thomason. Each were presented with historical framed
pictures pertaining to their areas of interest and were thanked for their service to the board.
|N. Treasurer ]armiie Bothell reviewed the November Financial Statement, which shows
expenses and revenue following the budget, moving towards aniother year to end with asmall
budget surplus. Jamie then presented the Annual Grant Update, which [istnd all grants and
contracts received during 2013, totaling $432,935. Several projlects supported by these grants
and contracts are multi-year so will remain open through one or two more years. This isohigh
number asit includes alarge commitment from a biannual grant opportunity from the State nf
Washington.
Curator of Collections Hilairy Pittenger reported on discussions from the Collections
Management Committee which included a preview of collections related goals for 2014: as a
small museum, our collection contains many objects that are in poor condiition or dulplicaites,
leading staff torecommend that a consistent and studied review of our holdings beundertaken.
Hilary then presented books and papers that have been donated to the Museum including
historical books, letters from WW2 anid a scrapbook of WWI Auburn newspaper articles, Very
impressive items for the museum achieves. A motion was made by Ronnie Beyersdorf to, accept
the collection committee recommend atioms and seconded by Rosetta K4oseby; the motion was
approved.
|\( Vice President and chair of the Nominating Committee Pat Cavanaugh was out of town, so
President Megan officiated the election of new board members and officers. The Nominating
Committee recommends that for the Historical Society Michelle Qostorink and Bill Sundqvist join
the board of directors. They further ask that the mayor appoint Tova Turner. MieQan noted this
as a motion, which was seconded by Bill Greene. The slate of new members was passed
u,0aBiDl0USk/.
Megan then reported that the Nominating Committee recommended Pat Cavanaugh for
President, Kimm Perry become Vice President and that Jamie Bothell assume another year as
Treasurer, joined by Ronnie Beyersdorf taking on another year as Secretary. Ronnie Beyersdorf
seconded that motion, and those members present voted unanimously to accept this slate of
officers.
V. After a rousing series of comments and thanks for years of service to Kristen Bruhahn as
and Megan as she retired from the position of board president, the meeting was adjourned at
2:35 pm.
